I just hope the spankings we are going to see next season don’t do irreparable damage to the confidence of these up and comers.

Yes that’s the risk and the big concern.
But what can we do about it, we have been backed into a corner based on our lack of success.
The alternative is to fill our top 30 with NRL journeyman who might help us climb a few positions on the ladder, but never have the ability to get us back in the top 8.
If we took that option we would lose a fair chunk of our talented youngsters, some of of them who could become the superstars we are craving.

It’s a very strong group coming through, that’s for sure. Both forwards and backs. Have high hopes for Luke Laulilii, Galvin and Mason. Halves look sorted with Fainu, Galvin and Large eventually.
I hope we can stay relatively injury free in 2024 and keep the 1st grade outfit on the paddock, allowing the young guys the opportunity to play in games at strategic points of the season or when deemed ready.

The huge concern is that Fulton has been able to recruit no one but players from Manly and Super League.

Lomi only had a one-year Top 30 contract but wasn't farewelled by the club at the presentation night, which probably means he's staying on as a NSW Cup player.

The Warriors went from second last to top 4 in one year so it’s not an impossible task…

The Tigers won’t be doing that in 2024 though, looking at the squad they are putting together

We've recruited a bunch of young kids but they are highly rated young kids. It's a risk but I reckon it's better approach than trying to recruit from more established players when we always end up overpaying and don't end up with a team good enough to get above 9th place at best.

Seems like the plan is to blood a lot of the youngsters next season. Realistically, this is the way the club achieves any kind of success. BUT- it will come with it's own issues. I'm not too worried about bringing through the young forwards- we built our experienced group through FA last year.

The backs look light though. I would expect a few names to still move. And the additions might be more structured to adding knowledge & guidance if we are going to push the young guys through.

100% correct , you don’t hear from Unca Nick or Panthers bosses hardly at all , even when roosters were heading south this season , Lee loves the lime light , I’ve been on boards , and you don’t get involved with the day to day running of the club , Lee wants to be face and centre of this club and it’s not good

I would be ecstatic with ninth place although that is a pipe dream with this team next year…

It’s looking to me that 2024 will be another year starting off 1 win and 8 losses and the season over Mid May..,

Agreed. You'd like to see some improvement next year and some players coming through and looking like they could be stars. I'm hopeful we can get some excitement from Fainu, Galvin and Sullivan ala Bula this year.

I'd also like to see Benji show some promise as a coach. So some good tactics and bringing kids on and more wins.

Im a bit more positive about next year then most here. IMO we would of won a lot more games this year if we just had one functioning half. If Bud stays fit he is heads and shoulders our best attacking half since Benji and Fainu/ Seizedr can fight the next spot out.

Im hoping you are right …as i would be satisfied with like 8-9 wins and moving off the bottom of the ladder .. so I wouldn’t say my hopes are unreasonable…

However mark my prediction that they will run 17th again next year if they turn out that same backline in 2024 + the two young halves… the wings and centres give up too many tries and can’t score enough to get the points back ..

Think the halves competition so far is

6. Fainu/Galvin
7. Sezer/Sullivan

Less than 6 weeks to go until the 2025 contract free players become available, and WT will need to quickly nail a big signing or two.

In his defence, there really hasn’t been anyone of scale on the market.

Look at dogs signings, yeah they keep signing players. But they will be 14-17 on any team.

Whilst depth is needed, let’s see what happens after November when a new range of quality players come on the market.

Realistically since the few dolphins signings it’s been slim pickings most of this year.
