Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Called for him to be in the team from early in the year , never got a decent shot at proving himself until end of season , guy can play just needed to be given a go instead we stuck with crap players in poor form , guy is a keeper
Re Tristan Reilly.

Ok sure, But make him EARN it.
We really did not have much competition in our backs, ok Quality competition.
We leaked tries everywhere.

Now with Reilly, Naden Feledy, Starford, Staines (if he remains) we will have a few centers vying for spots. We can also place pressure on Nofo/Tupou who leak tries like anything.

I would like to see us pair Center/Wings and have these players train together as a pair. One reason our defense is so poor is the changes at the back make it hard to form combinations. I would be up for pairing say Naden and Staines or Starford and Reilly, if one drops... we drop both to reggies till they come back. like defensive pair.

Happy to give anyone a try, and a boot if they can't defend.

Im 77,
And would love to hear we have made a big name signing,
One that other clubs would love to get.

Not 30 plus ones that are fast approaching there use by.
but ones that are early 20s models, that everyone wants to get.

Lets face facts 90% of our team are not wanted by other clubs.
And I forget the last proven big name
this club has signed.
Would be great one day to look at WTF and see we have been shocked in the nicest possible way.
Api and Ice were two of the best players in the game when we signed them last year.

What happened to the rumour that we had some signings lined up but were waiting for their teams to be eliminated from the finals?

Are we signing another couple of grand finalists then...

I can't wait for season 2024 to start. The off season is so depressing with WT habit of slow signings and send off's. I know negotiations have to take place but other teams are so much quicker off the mark. That blot / error is solely on our admin.

Let’s enjoy the warm weather, barbies, swimming, sex galore…footy can wait

Api Koroisau
Yes, Api is a great player, but penrith let him go, did they not,
I Am talking about as I said early 20s but one that other clubs want, and we get, most in our team are not wanted elswhere, to have a player in our team like luke Walsh would be a dream for west tiger supporters.

IMHO excluding Koroisau and Papalii, we have several players that attract attention of other clubs e.g. Bula, Tupou, Pole, da Silva, and even Twal.

Good call - put the slowest player in the NRL even before his latest injury in at centre!!
I’d be surprised if Doueihi plays at all. If he does he will need to reinvent himself completely. He will be even slower along with his very poor and effortless defense so at centre he’ll be made to look very average. For those doubting Reilly or T’oa - they would look like rock stars compared to him.

Seems we are likely to lose Twal and i get the feeling that there might be a couple of others somehow. Wouldn’t be surprised if behind the scenes we are trying to make some room for Seyfarth and Staines.
Benji can not be content with the current lack of class so some rearranging is likely. Of course his big problems are lack of available options and limited desire to join us.

What is the current update on twally. Anyone know also Staines , been very quiet on the signings at tigers ,Ayres the revue could be the issue

A few snippets:

(DT Sport Confidential)

- The Sharks have got ahead of the November 1 transfer window by giving permission to utility Connor Tracey to speak with rival clubs. Cronulla have told Tracey he is free to receive offers from rival clubs for the 2025 season alone with the 27-year-old contracted until the end of next year. The Sharks have no plans to move Tracey on early.

- A 19-year-old from North Queensland with only 12 first grade games to his name is only weeks away from becoming one of the hottest properties in the game. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki made his debut earlier this season for the Cowboys while on a development deal and he has turned heads since, suggesting he will become a target for rivals as he prepares to enter the final year of his deal on November 1. The Cowboys will have their hands full in a few weeks. Finefeuiaki aside, half Tom Dearden, forward Coen Hess and back rower Heilum Luki – he has a player option in his contract for 2025 – all have the ability to sign with rival clubs from November 1. Dearden is a clear priority but Luke and Finefeuiaki present an intriguing dilemma for the Cowboys given the back row is one of their positions of strength.

- Once rated as one of the game's most talented youngsters, utility Jayden Nikorima will once again be on the lookout for a new club in 2024. A five-eighth who has also filled in playing other positions in reserve grade for the Storm, Nikorima only managed a single NRL game in 2023 to go with his one in 2022.
