Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Seems we are likely to lose Twal and i get the feeling that there might be a couple of others somehow. Wouldn’t be surprised if behind the scenes we are trying to make some room for Seyfarth and Staines.
Benji can not be content with the current lack of class so some rearranging is likely. Of course his big problems are lack of available options and limited desire to join us.

- The Sharks have got ahead of the November 1 transfer window by giving permission to utility Connor Tracey to speak with rival clubs. Cronulla have told Tracey he is free to receive offers from rival clubs for the 2025 season alone with the 27-year-old contracted until the end of next year. The Sharks have no plans to move Tracey on early.

- A 19-year-old from North Queensland with only 12 first grade games to his name is only weeks away from becoming one of the hottest properties in the game. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki made his debut earlier this season for the Cowboys while on a development deal and he has turned heads since, suggesting he will become a target for rivals as he prepares to enter the final year of his deal on November 1. The Cowboys will have their hands full in a few weeks. Finefeuiaki aside, half Tom Dearden, forward Coen Hess and back rower Heilum Luki – he has a player option in his contract for 2025 – all have the ability to sign with rival clubs from November 1. Dearden is a clear priority but Luke and Finefeuiaki present an intriguing dilemma for the Cowboys given the back row is one of their positions of strength.

- Once rated as one of the game's most talented youngsters, utility Jayden Nikorima will once again be on the lookout for a new club in 2024. A five-eighth who has also filled in playing other positions in reserve grade for the Storm, Nikorima only managed a single NRL game in 2023 to go with his one in 2022.

Would be a great signing for the Tigers -Can play anywhere in the backline (literally has started multiple NRL games in ever backline position). Also notably was signed to Sharks and brought into NRL by John Morris our new assistant.

Surely no club would want Hess on their roster,i just hope nobody tells our board he is available or he could become the lynchpin of our "aggresive" buying spree as promised by our chairman

club should be hot on Tracey's tail. would walk into one of our centre spots and can play in the halves and at the back as cover. Finefeuiaki was rumoured as per @teddy23 so maybe we're sniffing around.

Nikorima might be ok to play halfback for Cup, not entirely sure. we'll see.

Would bring that outside back experience & leadership that Benji is after (as well as EFFORT) & could become our back-up fullback if Staines moves on.

Article says Sharks won't release for 2024 but maybe they would consider Kepaoa, Twal or Simpkin???

But the rest you are ok with?
(rest of tigers members)

Ok Toupu I want out.

Bula IN.
API IN

Klemmer, Paps, Twal seem to hold their own. Stefano can get better output, but still is earning a spot.
Our forward pack including API at 9 is seriously good. My worry is that our training isn't up to scratch and they are dipping.

Our backs need to get the defensive structures right. I think it was a mistake with Cayless being a defensive coach is that he worked on the forwards.... and had not much to work with. Meanwhile our backs leaked tries.

This season our backs... just leaked tries. So we focused on fast footy and 200,000 passes.

Found this article on Bevan French from earlier this season. Sounds like he has really matured since heading to Super League & the type of player we would need (i.e. driving standards, fast, x-factor) ... could be our centre & versatile for fullback, halves & wing. Probably similar to Connor Tracey.

Bevan French is suspended at the moment by the ESL for foul play. Also he is not particularly big and i believe he would massively struggle against NRL backlines because of his size just like he did before

Yes someone was on here before the finals saying we’re looking at signing players from some of the top 8 teams and there would be signing news as they dropped out each week, but so far squat! Maybe all our prospects are from the GF teams 🤔
