Yes but we have not yet seen the best of the emerging young talent such as Bula, Tupou, To’a, Reilly, Pole, Blore & Utoikamanu..
All could and should be vastly improved players with a strong pre-season under their belts.
Add to that our young re riots in Fainu x2 & Jayden Sullivan, the potential re-signings of Charlie Staines & Alex Seyfarth who are both also approaching the prime of their careers.
Add the even younger/less experienced young players in Da Silva, Matamua, Tumeth, Mansfield, Feledy, Laulilli and Galvin they are all young enough and have good enough resumes as young players ti suggest any one of them could jump out of the ground and become quality NRL players sooner than later.
No guarantees, but a lot of hope.
It is not wise ti write off young players who were elite all the way through their junior careers too early.

I wish I had your optimism… I was similarly optimistic at the start of 2023...

I would love to be wrong … but I don’t see it next year … maybe 2025 the youngsters will bear fruit..

To have some success in 2024 - They would really need an experienced winger and center… they are very weak in the outside backs.. … and the new halves paring needs to emerge and be successful from the three new ones they have signed… that’s hardly a given next season ..Sullivan and Fainu might need 12 months

Ch9 Chammas reports Chair asked to stand down by Club's major shareholder. He has rejected this demand and vowed to fight. Also mention of O'Farrell as a member of the Board.

To put this into some perspective our 2013 roster featured about 12 players that were yet to taste first grade. I looked across our team list to start the year and felt absolute dread. Most of those players featured in the 2012 Toyota cup grandfinal side.
We finished that year 2nd last and would have got our first proper spoon if not for a couple of lucky wins.

I agree 2024 could very well be a season too early to see the best of our young crop as NRL players, but I’d rather have youth on my side than too many ageing has beens.

These are stratagems that should be kept in-house and away from the media. It underscores that while the club is subject to more than its fair share of criticism in the media, the same media is useful to some in the club.

The media ridicules someone one week,,, then they are getting leaked stories from them the next week…

Oh great. Our faceless real estate agent is telling the man who built and runs his own legal firm to step down.

Lee has faults, don't get me wrong, but those other board members have been here a lot longer than him and have a resume with far less clout than him.

Our faceless men need to take a good hard look in the mirror. A musician, a broadcaster, a real estate agent and a painter.... seriously.
Right the hell on Hammertime.

Seriously take a look. https://www.weststigers.com.au/about/board/

We have 2x former players. One from the 70's and one from the 90's. We then have 5 members who are "business".

Honestly Business side we are Okay. Far better then Parramatta and Manly. There has been talk of contracts being delayed, but were better then when we offered Packer/Reynolds 4 year contracts without performance clauses.

The football side we need the focus and I think we need a "football" board to get the football plan worked out. We just can't have these 70's and 90's players alone.

When teams win business starts winning also.

God I hope so.

Let's look at the Panthers board. https://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/about/board-of-directors/

It's a 5 Person board.
  • Greg Alexander
  • C-Level Exec for major companies (Chair)
  • A legal practitioner with a load of local community and charity roots
  • An MD of a 150-person Penrith-based org
  • and a bloke who has been working at the club for 40 years.
With a beautifully balanced board like that, no wonder they're at where they are at. If we look at it the same way as the team decisions, would any of our guys make it onto that board (ie. The run-on squad)?

The only one is Lee and John D. The rest are playing in Cup or bush footy.
Take Nathan Cleary out of their side and see how many titles they win.
It’s easy being on a board when you have a freak of nature and a natural born leader running the side.
