I love Yeo, But I think how much his involvement Stifles the Panthers Halves...
Worked 3 years ago, But that was a few birthdays and a lot of Footy ago for him.

Him and Luai being off at the same time, And Cleary hitting the Powerband happened all at the same time...
So it's hard to blame or credit anyone...
But I think Yeo being off adds more to the Panthers than Luai off.
Was the same when they moved him to Prop and out of the way in Origin.

He touches the ball to much, and the games caught up with him a bit for mine...
This is an excellent comment. Yeo is a good bloke but the issue with that is he won't ever get criticised. It's the same with Jake Trbojevic at Manly. Very slow in the ruck and gives away a lot of penalties but because he's not an issue with the media there's no issue. Luai on the other hand... free clicks for all the Facebook bogans. Yeo looked good for Australia on the weekend (one of our best) because he didn't play like a ball playing lock, he played straight and ran the footy. Murray is 10 times better as a ball player, which is why NSW won game 3. Him playing at prop for NSW was good as you said too. First two games he did not give good ball to Moses, Cleary or Luai. Very poor game in game 1 especially when the ball hit the ground.

I don't think 5 years is too long. If you think about it, if he signs a 1 million dollar deal with us for 5 years, it's similar to a 1.3 million dollar deal for 3 years which is what he'd ask. The thing he wants is a longer deal. Penrith aren't giving that to him unless he takes heaps unders below 700K I'm hearing. Pretty disrespectful offer in my opinion, and after what Ivan said in the media like the dick he is I'd want to leave too
Don't know where or even if Luai is leaving the 'Riff, but if he does, I hope he blows Ivan a kiss on the way out the door then does a fart in his general direction.

someone is upset at the truth it seems. You'll find penrith were actually winning for the whole first half and 5 minutes of the second half. Ezra Mam scored those tries when luai was off the field...
They couldn’t score tries with him out there except for a stupid tap back

maybe because he had a dislocated shoulder. Cooper Cronk had a bad shoulder injury in the 2018 GF and was a total passenger but people called it a masterclass because he pointed and directed the team apparently. Keary was the Clive Churchill medal winner. It seems you're ignoring that Cleary kicked the ball dead and the set after Mam scored his first try and missed some tackles and was out of position for Mam's other 2 tries. I think he made up for each of those 3 tries by setting up the next 3 in the comeback

The form of players decreases over time you do realise?
Especially when injuries occur with more regularity?
Luai hasn't hit his peak as an nrl player. Maybe team-wise he won't win another premiership, but he hasn't played his own best footy individually at penrith

He’s won 3 in a row I’d say it’s a money move. I can’t see him remaining at Penrith unless the money is close.
If I was in his position, I’d make the rest of my career about making as much money as possible. All of that squad should. They’ve done it all. Time to cash out now.

Not apparently. That has been verified by the rest of the spine, his coach and ex players.

What is your point and how does that relate to Luai and his poor performance?

First of all, how could you possibly know that? Are you a time traveller, returning from the future?
Secondly, if this turns out to be true, why hasn’t he been playing his best footy when he has been a member of a champion club side, a strong state side and a reasonable Test side for a few years now?
Has he been bludging? Is he shy?
Thirdly, what makes you think he’ll put it all together when he comes here…to a club that sucks on and off the field?

No doubt money is a huge part, he be silly not to set his family with a short shelf life playing career in NRL. But knowing his competitive nature, arrogance, comment by hopefully soon to be ex coach "know your worth" he will be up for a huge challenge going to consecutive spooner Club that has potential but not established in the halves. Certainly won't have the same effect moving to say rorters/sharks/storm. Fingers crossed..

I think he's a great player but when it comes to ball playing I always cringe when media says he's the best ballplaying lock in the comp. I'd take Murray, Carrigan and Harris over him for ball playing. Yeo has the best defence though
Carrigan's ball playing is so underrated. Doesn't throw as many passes as Murray and Radley but knows how to find space and what lines to run himself. Doesn't lock himself into the same running/passing pattern every time like Yeo does.

Yeo's equivalent in another sport is Nathan Lyon in cricket. Only has a limited number of tricks but is very good at them and can do them all day.

Because he will be forced to. The past 3 years at penrith he's played a limited role that works for their system and they have won 3 prems. Why change something that doesn't work for the team? Individually, he was the second best 5/8 in 2020 after Wighton won the Dally M and he received 3/4 of his points in the back end of the year when he was playing regular footy. Origin-wise, Freddy Fittler has played NSW exactly like Penrith, which is why he plays that same way which doesn't work in origin. The only time in the last 3 years since 2020 that Luai has played freely is for Samoa, without Cleary, without Ivan, and with a team that lost to Australia in the final admirably. They were never going to beat the Kangaroos. If you individually compare Australia to Samoa, the only two players you would swap is To'o for a winger, and Crichton for a centre. Every other position, even Australia's bench wins the individual matchup. You might call what he is doing bludging, but if he was bludging he would have been dropped for: Burton, O'Sullivan, Cogger, Maloney (yes in 2019 he replaced Cleary and didn't lose a game when he played halves), May, Isaiya Katoa etc. Ivan clearly wants him to play that way, and he does it for the team. Samoa is the only time we haven't seen him play that way and he played excellent. As I said before, NSW played the exact same way penrith do, because Freddy can't coach and pick good forwards

Poor performance? No missed tackles, no tries conceded on his edge. Team was winning 8-0 until a late Flegler try in the middle. Mam scored a try after Cleary's ball kicked dead. Luai goes off when it is 12-8, Mam scores 2 tries on Cleary's side again after Cogger comes on. Yeo goes off after this at 24-8, where in your logic was Luai the reason for their improvement? If anything the score evidence here shows Yeo made a bigger impact on the comeback especially as he touches the ball more and gets more first receiver. Are you able to make a logical answer without name calling or getting upset that a player you don't like didn't play as bad as you imagined?

Penrith will say the same about Luai if media ask about it. It's what teammates do (not coaches seeing how Ivan talks down his own player). Cronk literally hid on the wing, barely made tackles, didn't get involved in attack but just pointed. I watched that GF and it was all Keary. Yet when Luai does his job defensively, actually reinjures the shoulder during the game because he doesn't hide on the wing, he still gets scapegoated? Media has done its research on its target audience

I see. It’s everyone else’s fault 🙄
