Why bother signing for 1 year? the Answer to your question is because he is worth more than he is getting but at the time that his contract was up, his preferred suitor was 12 months away from being able to pay what he wants/needs so he extends for 12 months. A young players career is short. Sign for 1 year and then clean up.

Agreed. It's a rumours thread, for rumours. Its entertaining to read and gives people something to talk about. Many of the rumours can't really be proven or disproven anyway so don't put too much stock in them and enjoy it
