Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Shit man at this point i’m waiting for the Bulldogs recruitment staff & Gus to come show up at my house and tell me they’ve purchased me as an indentured servant to be used as a wrestling dummy.

I've been scrolling through this thread looking for signings with a 2 month absence. We got nothing, I'm not feeling good about 2024 whatsoever. Benji is royally out of his depth.

I will look forward to COACH BENJI,
Making a heap of people eat their own words.

I find it so hard that the poor guy is getting his team organised for his first full season with this team that he is trying to put together, and all these people that gave Brooks 10 years
Of under performing are not even willing to give Benji
ONE YEAR.

Not even a pre season.
Want his scalp now.

No one wants his scalp. However some are concerned that he served no apprenticeship. Seems more than fair.

In all fairness. Sheens was a store mannequin in the box last year. It was plain as day Benji was coaching last year but Sheens was the fall guy.
I expect much of the same this year. Benji set plays thinking everyone has his freakish talents.
There is only one Benji Marshall and as soon as Benji realizes it the better we will be.

Dogs just making sure that the Tigers pay top dollar for Luai…

You can bet the Tigers will increase their offer …although it’s likely they are bidding against themselves..

3rd Party deals here we come if he heads to the Bulldogs. No way they can pay him 900k+ off the cap if they want to get forwards (which they need badly).

If our illustrious chairman tries his hardest to get some positive news in an attempt to hang on to his job i hate to think what we will offer. The only people who should be getting involved in this are the coach and the recruiting team, everybody else at the club should just shut up

It's unlikely the Bulldogs paying Luai what he wants, but I can see the dogs trying to push his value up as high as possible so the Tigers take the maximum possible hit to the cap. Dogs play price would be to give him close to asking and hope that the lure of mates at the club covers the rest, but I don't think that's what Luai is really after.

Being a rugby league journalist seems like one of the easiest jobs going around.

Just keeps everyone guessing.

There aren’t many other stories to be writing about at the end of November … there is still weeks to run on this … even if he accepts the Tigers offer… there is the ten day period where Penrith can change their offer …

The Panthers are believed to want two of the Tigers' key players - a veteran prop and a boom rookie - before entertaining any deal for 2024.

Sources have told Wide World of Sports that if the Tigers agree to swap Luai for prop David Klemmer and young halfback sensation Lachlan Galvin, the deal could be done immediately.

Nah… just Klemmer … otherwise 2025 is fine

It's another Tommy Talau - Josh Addo Carr moment possibly!

As much as I love the potential of Galvin, if this landed Luai for 2024, I would strongly consider it.

Klemmer is hard to replace but may mean we keep Blore as a middle for '24 and forego Olam.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't!

Don't believe the Bulldogs are honest bidders for Luai. Why would they wait four weeks after Luai could receive offers from other clubs before thinking about making an offer? Luai could have been signed by us or any other club in that time. They are up there as one of the grubbiest clubs going around.
