OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

Let me break it down for you. AD expressed his views and others exercised their right of retort. The Tigers, his employer who pay the useless sack 650k to sit on the sideline, have a social media policy. An employee must follow the lawful and reasonable directions of their employer, including to comply with any workplace policies. In Australia we don't have an express right to free speech, only a narrowly defined implied right to political communication. Contrary to popular belief, the first amendment to the US Constitution doesn't apply here. But all is not lost, when AD is off contract next year, he won't be constrained by any social media policy.
Very correct.

But what was this bit of dung stuck to the bottom of that wonderful post?

"Also, not sure why you're bringing science into it? Since when has the right ever cared about science?"

Oh dear.

Not the mean and nasty 'right'.....

Yawn.

He was smart enough to get $650k for a year's extension to his contract after coming back from a second ACL tear and this was before the season started and a game had even been played so that a judgement could be made on how he was going to go.

Add to that the fact that no other club was chasing him at the time and I would say that either he or his manager are pretty smart or else Wests Tigers are really dumb. 🤡
When you’re running out of halfbacks, like loo paper during a pandemic, you do whatever it takes.

He couldn’t help himself.
Having provided a good argument and discussion point, he had to go further, nailing his flag to the mast thus proving a point made earlier correct.

Rehab I’d say.
He is somewhat aware of public perception, thus the self censoring.
Seems a spur of the moment frustration. I would say he is quite aware his career is likely over.
Injuries are cruel.

Yeah suspect maybe the injury side has hit him harder this time round than others especially when training died down and everyone went on their holiday run.

Just strange how he is opening up somewhat on his views & the random ones he is quoting.

If it is the injury hope he is reaching out for support

It's got nothing to do with wokeness which I don't know what that even means.

Sure he extended a year but I doubt it was for 650k when the injury report card indicated half the year at least was off the table. He was desperate and needed a club to look after him (training/rehab etc is expensive when not funded by the club).

His first one was more outrage at kids at a school who wanted to go with their same sex partners. Who is he to judge anyone else ? If the kids are gay they are gay. Who cares ?
No it wasnt, it was to say that a Catholic school should have a right to establish rules based on their teachings and faith. Not like you to twist things to suit your narrative Earl or is it?

if the school is Catholic, its Catholic, why do you care?

Seems I've upset an old leftie soldier here. Were you offended by AD's post? Please tell me you were

Earl, mate, it is hyperbolic.

And here's why:

Doueihi is the sole arbiter of the original post's intention.

If his intention, as stated, was to indicate that it is silly to suggest to a supporter base how they should talk to a certain subset of the population, then it doesn't matter how it 'may' have been interpreted by some, as those interpretations are irrelevant to the original post. They're merely manifestations of a bystander's perspective, rooted in their own biases and tendencies, culminating in an opinion completely removed of any relation to the original post.

To then choose a word like 'disgusting' to describe something that has been objectively explained by the poster, is hyperbolic, because the reference is to the de-contextualised, irrelevant interpretation of the post (which is mis-characterised and often exaggerated for effect), not the post itself. It is a unique strawman type of scenario where what's being attacked (or described as 'disgusting') is an incorrect representation of the original stance, not the stance itself.

Unfortunately for those seeking crucifixion, they do not get to decide the intention, as allowing anyone's interpretation to be just as valid as the next means nobody is able to say anything without facing recompense, given that there is nearly an endless number of ways nearly everything that's said can be interpreted.

MEANING..... AD, and he alone, gets to decide the intention of his own posts.

We have thousands of people dying in Gazar, we have thousands starving in Africa and people are worried about what AD posted on instagram. Strange world we live in
What else is strange is that there have been threads for weeks with everyone obsessing over the potential signings of Olam and Luai, yet you didn’t feel compelled to make the comparison in those threads to the situation in Gaza. Are you saying those signings are worth worrying about over Gaza? Just seems strange you only make that comparison now.
