As 50 said,
Jay-Z made it a hot line, I made it a hot song.

Haha, no idea bra.

If you actually read the story, it becomes a little clearer. He hasn't been at training "since Wednesday" and had a meeting at the club on Thursday evening, at which he agreed to come back to training on Monday.

In other words, he didn't show up on Thursday and got called in for a please explain. I'm not sure what went down at that meeting - it could be anything from an arm round the shoulder to an almighty bollocking with a threat of the sack. But whatever it was, Nofoaluma has obviously backed down.

You can't generally fire someone for not turning up to work once, so I'm not really sure what else the club could have done. For all we know he's on a written warning and strict KPIs, which is about the most they could legally do.
Nofo strikes me as the sort of guy that will ring the Brydens hot line seeking a free initial meeting for legal advice…

Here's a theory guys. The leak to Chammas & getting Nofa to kick stones was from Nofa's agent Sam Ayoub to pressure Tigers in releasing Nofa (including paying more freight than they have said they would).

I reckon the 2 most important lines in the article which point to this are the last 2:

His services have been offered to rival clubs on numerous occasions over the past two years but the Tigers haven’t been able to agree on the amount they would contribute as part of his release.

Nofoaluma has also attracted interest from the Super League.
Boom! Agreed. We have shipped him around but no one wants the contract

Nof Nof Nof... as if you weren't disliked enough by most Tigers fans.

When you've played like dog poo for years you can't complain about training.

Haha My God, that’s even worse. Could you imagine the Storm, when Bellamy’s time is up replacing him with someone who they concede don’t know if they can coach? People wonder why we are where are.
Did QLD know if Billy Slater could coach ?
Experienced Coaches haven’t helped us lately,
The playing roster helps make a coaches job easier.
I’m hoping Benji and his
Coaching Staff can put some enjoyment back into the boys routine and bring out the best in them.
Yes I would have liked another assistant with experience to add to John Morris.
Who I think could be one of the best purchases we have made for next year.
2024 be more competitive in every game and build from there into 25,26.
Here hoping anyway 🍻

Why do you know so much about all these reddit posts?

You’re talking about Origin. That’s based a lot on emotion and man management. No club took a punt on Slater to coach their club and give him a 3 year contract. They don’t know if he can coach because he served no apprenticeship. It’s unheard of.

I’m sure I read somewhere that Alexander Lobb is one of the fittest and best trainers at the club so far in pre season.
Yes I understand some will say that doesn’t make him a good footballer, but it does show he’s a young, enthusiastic and ambitious footballer who wants to work his way to the top.
These are the type of traits we definitely need to be any chance of exceeding expectations in 2024.
I have also heard Declan Casey is a very fit athlete, so I’m sure these two in particular will be ready and waiting to prove their worth if NRL opportunities come their way.

Declan Casey will need a lot of injuries to get a game.

For anyone who is interested about hearing what the senior players are doing (or at least were planning) the Footy Talk podcast has a one-on-one with Aaron Woods and Api. Real interesting listen for me talking about starting last year late but this year saying he is going to be the one to set the high standard. Genuinely sounded real positive for the upcoming season.

Wests Tigers player refuses to train over perception of unfair treatment

New Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall faces the first test of his career as one of his highest-paid players refuses to turn up to training over a perception of unfair treatment from the club.

Winger David Nofoaluma, a former teammate of Marshall and the greatest try-scorer in the club’s history, has not been to training since last Wednesday in response to what he claims is poor treatment from the club’s football department.

Nofoaluma has also lodged a complaint with the Rugby League Players’ Association over the conduct of the club.

A meeting between Nofoaluma, the RLPA and Wests Tigers was held on Thursday night.

Sources with knowledge of the situation talking under the condition of anonymity due to the confidential nature of discussions told this masthead that Nofoaluma’s gripe with the Tigers relates to how he has been treated at training.

Nofoaluma struggled physically and with his fitness levels upon returning to pre-season training last month and was one of the team’s least impressive performers in a time trial.

Marshall and his new-look coaching staff are trying to drive a new standard at the club and haven’t shown preferential treatment to the veteran winger.

Nofoaluma reached his limit last week and complained about the communication between him and the football department, as well as the training methods that have been adopted to try and improve his fitness.

At Thursday night’s meeting between the club and the RLPA, Nofoaluma agreed that he would return to training on Monday in an attempt to resolve the matter.

Nofoaluma, the RLPA and Wests Tigers have been contacted for comment.

Nofoaluma still has two more years to run on his deal with the Tigers at about $500,000 per season but has struggled to cement his place in the team recently.

The Tigers have been trying to offload the winger to a rival club for the past two years and even lent him to the Melbourne Storm at the end of 2022 as part of a loan deal for the final few games of the season and the finals series.

Nofoaluma has scored 100 tries from 192 games for the Tigers since his debut for the joint venture club in 2013.

His services have been offered to rival clubs on numerous occasions over the past two years but the Tigers haven’t been able to agree on the amount they would contribute as part of his release.

Nofoaluma has also attracted interest from the Super League.
What a flog. We have to get rid of these overpaid dead weights bringing our club down. But his relationship with Lee is probably what's keeping him there
