Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We need some people need to drop a load to get some stress out.
This is going to be a long off season if the last few pages are the standard.

Only another three months until their first game of 2024…

Wonder if they will have signed anybody by then ?

Instructed to knock the ball down???

Zero credibility self admitted troll!!
A lot of Nofas defensive mistakes can easily be “yada yada” away by the fact he was exposed because of the failings of the men inside him .
If you play a defence that ultimately leads to the edges jammming in, because in 2023 you kind of have to because everyone on the field is minimum 100kgs, and runs a sub 12 100m , then winger defensive mistakes are just simply the way you do business .
The issue with nofa , isn’t that he scews up , the big issue is , he’s a mug lair , and a selfish dickhead , who simply can’t and won’t grow up . This can manifest in “I’m better than you” try celebrations , or it can manifest in a lack of investment and interest during the game
, or , in half hearted defensive effort , it doesn’t really matter , the issue is attitude . And it all starts with his sense of entitlement , and generally poor attitude .
People will put up with the shenanigans , up until the performance no longer is there .
This is and always was his greatest strength , but now it’s his greatest weakness .
For me , I’d rather a 20 year old with potential like Lobb , or even Staines .
Benji , who was better than nofa in every way , even when he was 35 , had to learn this the hard way . And he transformed his game .
If Nofa doesn’t come to Jesus , the. He will be selling houses at Campbelltown rain and Horne in 2026 .

Both are true!

??? lol now your just being argumentative . That’s literally my point. But you can deal with the defensive mistakes ,. But you can’t deal with the poor attitude .
Nup - no argument here!

I am with you 100%

I appreciate how well you articulated the character issues with Nofa that if I had written would be construed as a personal attack by his fan club!

Well said sir!

Blore has signed for the Storm for 2025, which is when he becomes a free agent. We were in no position to "get anything out of it" - if Blore thinks somewhere else is a better option WHEN HE'S OFF CONTRACT that's totally his decision and his current club has zero leverage. If we want to see if anyone wants to swap for him FOR 2024 that's still an option, assuming he's interested in doing it.
Congrats, you have stated exactly what I was saying....

We have Blore for 2024, we could negotiate a good exit/swap since Blore seems hell bent on going.
Instead we just let him leave for Melbourne and we will let another team pick up Olam or another back from the storm.

I wonder when people are going to realise this isn’t the Nofa thread 🤔
OMG, someone has hijacked the "signing, suggestions and Roumers" thread. Go tell the Moderators, they will be most surprised 😉

We need to fire Nofa, I just don't get why his management did not tell him "turn up to training, earn an easy 500k". Okay I am sure they did and the kid just has issues.

Has it crossed your mind that Melbourne don't want to do a swap for 2024? Let me play it out for you:
Step 1) Tigers and Storm discuss a swap for Blore and Olam for 2024 but can't agree the details: the Storm want us to take Olam's whole contract for instance, and we - rightly - think that's a poor deal.
Step 2) Blore signs for the Storm for 2025.
Step 3) The Tigers go back to Melbourne and say "we want a player swap for 2024".
Step 4) The Storm say "we made you our best offer, if you don't like it you can keep him and we'll have him in 2025".
Step 5) Nothing. That's the end of the conversation.
The bit of my comment you either ignored or didn't understand is that unless Melbourne are particularly keen to get Blore for 2024 we don't have any leverage. All the Blore/Olam talk sounds to me like Melbourne thought we might be dumb enough to let them have a player they want in return for one they don't. Fortunately we managed to avoid treading on that particular rake - for once - but otherwise the Storm aren't especially fussed if they get Blore for 2024 or 2025 and therefore certainly aren't going to offer anything of value for 2024.
If you're running the Tigers right now what's your play with Melbourne? Please refer to steps 3 and 4 above before replying.

Having a plan is good management.
Divulging the details of that plan to those affected by it at the beginning of pre season is poor man management. A good manager would get the top 4 winger prospects together, tell them they are his focus and that the starting positions would be determined by pre season and trial form. You have to make everyone believe that busting their arse all summer will be worth it. You don’t tell a senior player he is out of the running before he’s begun.
That is your opinion, perhaps Benji doesn’t see it that way

Melbourne are missing enough of a forward pack that, YES they want Blore for 2024.

Considering how much depth they are missing there. Yes Melbourne want Blore and more forwards.
Ofcourse, they might see us as a laughing stock. I would agree.
But for Melbourne that "
"we made you our best offer, if you don't like it you can keep him and we'll have him in 2025".
Means no top 4 finish. They want that.

Ofcourse they could go and do something different. Accept their team needs a rest for a year. Let players heal, like Blore who has had a stack of injuries and a year as a bench/reserve grade player would be good.

All in all I doubt it. We need a solid Center, Melbourne really need forwards and need them more then we need a center.

I think they want Blore for this year and Olam gone. Tigers are happy to take Olam but only if Melbourne pay a percentage of his contract which they refused to do so the Tigers paused the negotiations. If Melbourne want it to happen they have to come to us with a deal. Tigers are playing hardball acting from a position of strength.
