I haven't seen one fan disappointed with this decision. Lee acting like it's rocked the club.
Rocked us into happiness.

There are a few unhappy campers at the moment but it is a very small minority imho.If the club is doing the right thing should be obvious in about 3/ 4 years time as it will take a while to start to get decent results.Old buggers like me could well have dropped off the perch by the time we have improved sufficiently to make us all happy.
I am an optimist in that i believe we have reached the nadir of our existence and things should improve by the end of 2025.WT will become one of the biggest clubs in the NRL,keep the faith

Love Lee's comments today...

All last three years it's been 'pascoe has nothing to do with football operations'.

Now, he's crucial to Benji and the success of football operations.

I assume he was also crucial to the other 6 or so coaches that have been appointed under Pascoe.

Boy, what is Benji going to do without Pascoe?
Mr flip flop

Interesting to hear Lee on the Radio this morning....
I've been non decisive on Lee or Pascoe... I see the same sh*t everyone else does....
But I've also been seeing the same over and over (In one form or another) for as long as I care to remember...

Which leaves me with the question - Is it them?
And don't get me wrong, It may well be...
But these problems have been here as long as the club has, And those 2 haven't.

I feel with the change in the way the media runs now, 24hr gossip channels etc.
(Even Sheens mentioned he was surprised how much it had changed in his 10 years away)
That we feel it's worse now than it was, But maybe it's just more scrutinised - By More Journos -
With no physical papers selling and much less to talk about.... The media cycle seems keen to conjure up a catastrophe somewhere every other day.

But what he said this morning, (and I'd have to listen again)
mentioning that those remaining had already been leaking to the media and were looking to flush out alternate sponsors already - Also mentioned somewhere that the majority owners of the Football 'Don't' really regard it in their day to day operations (Or some such)
- This I have felt for some time.... I've been hearing how loaded the Wests Group are for an eternity - But I don't feel that translates to the NRL club? (Maybe it's just me)

While we're all busy here laughing at Haircuts and Hats and rejoice at their removal
- Maybe they're just (Another set of) Fall guys to remove the focus from the real issue.
I hope you listened to Richo’s press conference. Seems you’re easily fooled by bullshit.

How about when he was asked if Sheens would be brought back to the club. No sugar coating, no umming and ahhing. Just a flat out no. Damn 😅

Richo said all the right things. Really impressive start.

I found his statements about the future of the club being at Camden/Campbelltown region really interesting.
That's the way it's going to go.

Leichhardt conoisuers may be a tad disappointed with the direction the club takes post review.

Strategy wise our future lies in the south west.

No doubt.

The ole dinosaurs kept Jurassic Park alive.

I don’t care what Lee thinks or says , he was outsmarted by the major share owners of the club , they got a review done , read it and acted , they were swift and hard but that is the way or the corporate world , Lee wanted to read the review and have a chance to challenge it as it was done by just 2 people , well Lee you we chair of a failing board that got worse every year you were on the board , decisions on Madge , Sheens , we’re hopeless , chasing quality players in Fox , Mosses , Mitchel etc we’re hopeless , the teams failing year on year , 2 spoons in your 4 years , and your head every where except where it should be , and also having a crack at the club for checkin* on potential sponsors and not calling you , maybe they want a new sponsor so we remove you completely, I would ,this guy is a knob and the whole time he has been sponsor he has just been promoting his firm , who I would not engage at all , if he is to go buy he is all talk no bite , and full of crap , but hay it’s not the last we will hear from him on radio sport news by writers in his pocket

I've just listened to the SEN / Lee interview. It's another paid for comment episode.

Lee spoke some home truths, but he dribbles and he couldn't directly answer why both him and Justin have two wooden spoons in their cupboards.

This won't be the last we hear of Lee.

As usual, talks about on-field results like they are a secondary thing at an NRL club. You couldn’t win, you got punted. You’re irrelevant in rugby league (to choose one of his phrases).

- Interim Board...

And (As I understood it) the Magpies rep is coming from the same place the others
they just sacked came from (And still are) - the HB Group / Board....

I'm hoping against it,
But I wouldn't be surprised to see then trot out a previous member...
(Only so many to choose from)
Let's be real here. These are the football club's owners, and they are going to be represented on the board. I guess they could elect to only appoint independent directors but those people would still be the choice of ownership and ultimately answerable to it.

If the absolute, fundamental problem with the club is its ownership the only ways to resolve it are to persuade the owners to put the club into some sort of blind trust or sell it. Neither of these seem terribly likely.

In the absence of that, getting rid of all the individuals who have overseen the current shambles and significantly diluting the power of replacements from the same source is about as good as it's going to get.

Is there anything to stop HBG putting in another selection of lightweights as the next independent and shareholder directors, or the interim or future board appointing another succession of useless CEOs? Absolutely not. All we can really hope is that if the independent review was so scathing that it caused HBG to immediately draw a line through the entire governance structure it has also given them cause to consider how they go about the rebuild.
