Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

What is the logic of this question? If all of them fulfill their potential, then we will lose one of Sullivan, Fainu or Galvin...you can't play 3 halves. Will you then complain we shouldn't have signed Sullivan because it blocks Galvin or Fainu? It's just such a strange take. Have you thought about what happens if they all don't fulfil their potential?

It's totally plausible that you can give first grade time to players in alternate positions until such time as the spot opens up, through injury, drop in form, retirement or release.

We have supposedly signed Sullivan and Latu Fainu on deals rumoured to be worth around 400 - 500k per season.
If those figures are correct, it will be a lot of money for one of them to not even be playing NRL if Luai is signed.
Then it’s likely Onitoni Large will cost around 500k possibly more once he turns 18 which is not so far away. If you are asking where I’m getting that figure, well Joseph Suaalii was signed for approximately 700k as a 17 year old on the back of reputation and being in demand from Rugby Australia, the hype on Onitoni Large is just as big, if not bigger.
Lachie Galvin is one of the most highly regarded schoolboy rugby league player in years, hyped in a similar fashion to how Brad Fittler was talked about as a schoolboy, so would it be better to keep him and keep him happy or let him go ? I know what I’d be doing.

I come across some highlight of a young centre playing for Sunshine Coast Falcons Hastings Deering Cup side at 19 years of age, he also made his Host Plus Cup debut in 2023..
His name is Mason Peut, looks an outstanding ball runner with great balance and speed,
I wonder if Scott Fulton has him in his sights ?

Pretty sure illias is a tigers junior also, not many rate him but I think he's pretty solid personally not sure if or when he left the tigers system though
The story is that Ilias got injured and we deemed he wasn't worth rehabilitating. Poor from us in my opinion. Papenhuyzen a similar story - he was chronically injured, Melbourne came to him and told him how they would build him into a more durable athlete, and he was sold.

That’s how I see it.
If we lived in a perfect world we could keep them all and move these young players who have their hearts set on becoming NRL halves to other positions, but reality is we will lose 2-3 of them if we sign Luai.
That’s not “the reality “ , they are highly rated but unproven teenagers and every club has them ..none of them would be a walk up start at any other club and if Benji can build some success through a team culture at this club then the youngsters will realise they will have to fight to win their position at a successful club that can play Finals football.. if any of them are thinking they are certain starters in 24 then they all have another thing coming

Yet more proof of the atrocious “club” that the previous management were building .. a complete and total shitshow

Yes, the media didn't really report on it though because he's not top tier talent. The deal with Melbourne for 2025 onwards was the catalyst for the early release in 24 talk and how Olam's name came into play.

Olam talk was well before 10days of Blore being formally announced.

No consideration that it actually looks like Paps may not be a durable first grader?
I’m more disturbed by the lack of support for players , the lack of vision and support for juniors that contributes to a team having no morale and harmony within the club. Treat them all like mercenarys that you could care less about and nobody will buy in or do the hard 1 per centers for the man next to them that makes all the difference in close games . Team and club spirit are big inspirations
