Lyon is good enough not to have to protect but he batted like a knucklehead.
I blame Lyon, Marsh, and Starc’s stupidity with the bat as the main reason we lost.

Not on Head for his king pair?
Not on Labuschagne his 8 runs in 2 innings?
Not on Smith for his failure to take command of a run chase that it was obvious only he was comfortable being involved in?

Marsh and Starc tried to stand up to the bowling and turn the tide. S.Joseph was in the middle of a big spell, injured, and if he caught a few overs of him being tonked, they would have given him a spell and brought on their far inferior performing bowlers. With some leadership from Smith to ensure they didn’t lose their heads, this plan would have surely worked.

Anyway it’s all history now. Joseph prevailed and how!

‘Corruption’: Cricket legend, ex-PM Imran Khan jailed for 10 years

Cricket legend and former prime minister Imran Khan has been jailed for a decade after sensational corruption allegations.

Cricket legend to be jailed for 10 years
Pakistan's cricket legend turned politician, Imran Khan, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for allegedly leaking state secrets.

A retired cricket legend has been sentenced to 10 years in jail, accused of leaking state secrets in a years-long political crisis.
Imran Khan, who is one of Pakistan’s most famous cricketers and the country’s former prime minister, was handed the sentence on Tuesday.
It was alleged Khan had shared the contents of a secret communication, also called a cable or cipher, sent by Pakistan’s ambassador in Washington to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Khan allegedly waved the cable at a rally in Islamabad, Pakistan, claiming it was proof of a conspiracy by the Pakistani military and US government to remove him from power after he visited Moscow days before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The case against Imran Khan
Khan, 71, was the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team through the 1980s and early ‘90s.
In 1996, he founded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political party, and in 2018 led it to victory, becoming Pakistan’s prime minister.
But in 2022, Khan travelled to Russia almost immediately before Russian president Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.
Khan said the meeting had been planned for months, but he faced criticism having met with Putin just hours after the invasion occurred, on the second day of his visit.

In April 2022, Khan became Pakistan’s first prime minister to be removed by a no-confidence vote — but he claimed to have been removed as part of a conspiracy between the US and Pakistani military due to his neutrality on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
He claimed to have a secret cable that proved his allegations and waved it at a rally in front of his supporters.
He also said the contents of the cable had appeared in the media from other sources.
The US and the Pakistan military have denied Khan’s claims of a conspiracy.

In August last year, Khan was jailed for three years on corruption charges he claimed were politically motivated.
He successfully had his jail term suspended but was hit with another case — this time an accusation of sharing state secrets relating to the diplomatic cable.
Khan was handed a decade-long sentence for those charges on Tuesday.
His former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was also given a 10-year jail sentence as part of the case.

Khan’s party said it will challenge the decision, calling it a “sham case”.

“We don’t accept this illegal decision,” Khan’s lawyer Naeem Panjutha posted on X.
Pakistan has seen violent demonstrations amid Khan’s years-long legal saga.
The country will hold elections on February 8. Khan is barred from running due to his convictions.

England have registered most Test wins against India, on their own soil.
That's interesting, but when you consider England have played 11 more tests in India than Australia (65 tests v 54 tests) and have achieved 1 more win, I don't think that is much of an accolade.

I must say, however, that their last series win in India in 2012-13 was outstanding, with brilliant bowling performances from Swann, Panesar and Anderson, and great batting from Cook.

Yeah definitely Head and Labuschane should’ve been better but the to blame Smith they way some have is not entirely reading the situation.
I love the way you say shit and make out like it’s gospel, “this plan would have surely worked.”
You don’t know that, and if that’s what the plan was, it didn’t work.
Anyway it was a good finish for them and as GNR’s said m, had we won no one would have noticed.

Just a word about the Poms:

England have registered most Test wins against India, on their own soil.
And, England are the last touring team to win a Test series in India.

Its like they are clutching at straws again !So far they are moral winners of the ashes and moral winners of the ODI world cup and now they have one more win on Indian soil
.Meh !
Here's a Stat - Australia is the only country to have more wins than losses against every test playing nation .( counting all home and away)
Maths and logic says can only one at most with that stat .

When you only lose by 8 runs you can list many things
Like Tucker has mentioned and Like you mentioned re Starc ,Lyon ,Marsh batting
Its all What ifs .Note Cummings wasnt playing shots and got out for 2 anyway .
My reaction re Smith was only to do when he had Lyon and then Hazo . I just felt he could have handled it a bit better .
Also it was unusual to see Green and Smith drop 2 catches each .Made us look a bit like Pakistan
Finally the main cause .a guy called SHAMAR ! Superhuman effort

Weve definitely found one new star in Xavier Bartlett .His first spell for Australia
6 overs 3-10 .High class .However
This weakened side looks weak in the bowling .Morris, Abbott ,Short are expensive
Zampa ,Green are bowling ok .
In general we just don't look the sharp side we were in India but Bartlett he's a keeper
