Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Parramatta by all reports just working out the $$ hearing 2 years with an option for a third that's from the local guy at the pub who volunteers his time helping parramattas junior teams the guy also has a man crush on Brad Fittler weird
"by all reports" = the local guy at the pub who volunteers in Parra juniors

Impeccable source!

No need for any further corroboration on this - done deal!

I don’t think Flanagan cares for Sullivan.
Yea, ah

A Sullivan for Lomax swap would be good.
But that whole "hey Sullivan, we don't have a halfback and so were going to punt our leading halves junior so Flanno Junior has a chance"... would rub him the wrong way.

Naturally us signing every free halfback in the comp probably rubs him the wrong way too.

We don't know what kind of side we have. Will Olam be a gun or a dud*. Will Sezer/Sullivan/Fainu Fire? or Fizzle?

My point, we won't know if:
our halves are guns or duds,
our centers are guns or duds,
even our wings, if Tupou can improve on a poor 2023 (sure moments of brillance, but moments) and if Naden or Staines will be a solid wing option.

The only known quantities in our side are:
Fullback, Bula
Hooker, Api
and a forward pack that kinda holds their own. Klemmer, Bateman, Pole... Love you guys.

I think we need a little more beef upfront. If I was looking to trade, I would talk to the Cowboys about swapping Sullivan for Hess or Luciano Leulia...(maybe?)....

Lets hold off signing anyone till we know who stands up and who needs replacing.

*I am a massive Olam fan, but I am open to the possibility of him not performing here like so many other signings not performing here. I expect him to RIP in but till we see it. ...

He is the guy at the pub everybody has one at there local who drinks alittle to much and looks much older then what he is mad Parramatta fan

There’s a line in the film 10 Things I Hate About You. Heath Ledger comments on everyone obsessing over this one particular girl “What is it with this girl, has she got beer flavoured nipples?”. I can’t help think of that line when I see people pushing Seyfarth’s barrel. Hey, maybe it’s me, but I just don’t get it.
I say that about my sister in-law all the time. She treats boyfriends like crap but they keep coming back!!

Could be worse options for a man crush.

Braith Anasta for example. While I hate Easts, Brad Fittler seems like a decent bloke.

I think Tigers need an impact prop off the bench like Blore would have been
Yes we need impact props, but we need workhorses more.

The workhorses we had in the past:
Liam Fulton
Elijah Taylor
Ryan Matterson (yea as a person I hate him, but he certainly did put in when he played for us...)

I haven't seen our pack so anywhere near as good as when they were a part of our side.
Don't know if the current state of NRL actually supports workhorses, it seems to want people to be in position more to close defensive gaps... Rather then having a player like the above tackle them away.

As a WT fan I am so glad we have Olam. The number of games I saw where:
Winger was overlapped 2 to 1. Try against us.
Winger was barged past.
Winger/Center playing like they just met each other 10 minutes ago.

Our backline defense SUCKS! It has for ages and it needed to be fixed. I am really hoping that Olam can tackle and form a defensive line with one of our wingers and shut down one side. Bateman is better on the edge and if he plays the other side we should be able to disrupt the opposition attack.

We have needed Beef in the backline for ages. That's why we hired BJ Leulia, which did not work out... But we still need Beef in the backline else we just get stomped on.

2023 was the year our forward pack went forward... but our backline just let through too many tries.
Would gladly take a workhorse like those above over an impact prop

in a crap dragons team lomax has played ok, he would look good next to Olam
Not sure where Sullivan will fit in at tigers in 2025, 500k for a reserve grader is not smart i think he may end up back at dragons or moved on once Luai is here and if fainu Galvin play well.
