I recall his Sharks teams being gritty and hard to break down defensively. Really hope he can coach some steel into this mob.I heard that Morris has changed our defense structure

Sullivan seems like a well suited #14 who could come on and take advantage of tiring forwards . I know we probably overpaid for him but that’s how I would like to see him employed.in a crap dragons team lomax has played ok, he would look good next to Olam
Not sure where Sullivan will fit in at tigers in 2025, 500k for a reserve grader is not smart i think he may end up back at dragons or moved on once Luai is here and if fainu Galvin play well.
At 9 are you thinking or 13?Sullivan seems like a well suited #14 who could come on and take advantage of tiring forwards . I know we probably overpaid for him but that’s how I would like to see him employed.

I think we need to develop TDS as a 9Sullivan seems like a well suited #14 who could come on and take advantage of tiring forwards . I know we probably overpaid for him but that’s how I would like to see him employed.
For versatility. If you have a half, five eighth, hooker or back rower go down, he could come on and actually lift the team with his energy. He’s a little bit of a Josh Reynolds type imo (before he came to us). Good energy. Completely honest I am not sure he’s smart enough to start but hey hopefully he proves me wrong. At 9 are you thinking or 13?
If we had the ascendancy he could create some chaos at 13 in small stints… going the other way might be a bit of a worry…
Olam is a good player still our backline will be better than dragons backline was in 2023Why ? Will Olam be bad… so he makes him look good in comparison?
All this love for Slomax … been happening here for 18 months …
Must be part of the Tigers fan PTSD… even when you dream about a player joining the team.. they are the crap ones..
Yep agreed. Bring him on as a live wire. My instruction would be just play your game. Wouldn’t be telling him to play a certain position but just attack close around the ruck and back up the ball carrier.Sullivan seems like a well suited #14 who could come on and take advantage of tiring forwards . He is like Josh Reynolds however has a lot more talent and natural attributes. For versatility. He’s an x-factor type of guy, I don’t want his errors and erratic play from a starter but I’d take him coming on off the bench and creating some points.Yep agreed. Bring him on as a live wire. Fair call. He’s been a bit of a yoyo at saints and I put that down to some poor decision making. I’ll back him if they chuck him a starting jersey but those are my concerns. He is like Josh Reynolds however has a lot more talent and natural attributes.
Reynolds was all heart but he lacked execution. Sullivan can be a genuine gun with his speed and skill. Kind of like Tyrone Peachey (when he didn’t suck).
Or Flanagan cares more for Flanagan Jnr depending on how cynical you are.I don’t think Flanagan cares for Sullivan.
Overall the squad rebuild is looking like its headed in the right direct. We have paid overs (not by a lot but still overs) for a few players now. And have a lot invested in the halves, and some talented uncapped players . However, We have to be careful we have the $ to retain the next crop of juniors coming through.Lomax again? You'd think he's Inglis reincarnated the amount of times he's mentioned here.
He's a centre just below origin level currently being paid fullback money. I don't know why we would want that?
Not sure about that. Morris was criticised for not having the sharks a sound defensive outfit.I recall his Sharks teams being gritty and hard to break down defensively. Really hope he can coach some steel into this mob.
Buzz didn’t query PVL of his opinion on the lack of negative Tigers stories?Just seen the article written by Buzz with his interview with V’landys. (Admins feel free to move it to another thread if you feel this one isn’t the right one for it). But there was some interesting things were brought up. I won’t post the full thing it’s pretty long but I’ll give you a quick rundown.
1. V’landys think that the games in USA will help improve and promote Rugby League.
2. Not looking at crowd attendance to decide if successful, whole idea is to sell the broadcast.
3. Nothing offical yet about who the next NRL team will be, but did confirm that PNG is the favourites at this stage.
4. Is considering bringing back the Bears in some capacity. Not in Sydney as he wants to promote the game outside Sydney and NSW. Buzz was adamant in wanting them to come back as well. V’landys reckons that will become a possibility given they’ve got 200K members.
5. Wants to help promote bush footy and get some direct funding to some clubs. Says that the NSWRL and QRL fund the competitions, but not the clubs themselves and wants to change that.
6. This one is more so a plea from Buzz but wants Shark Park to receive funding so they can renovate and upgrade the stadium, but mentions that all suburban grounds have failed to get upgraded. V’landys confirms that’s he’s spoken to Chris Minns about funding for Shark Park, says they’ll get there eventually. Nothing on other suburban grounds yet.
7. We all knew this already but admits there’s a chance the GF could move away from Sydney in the future.
8. V’landys believes in 10 years from now, we’ll have 20 teams in the competition.
There was a bit more but I think these were all the key points.
Port Moresby Bears then?Just seen the article written by Buzz with his interview with V’landys. (Admins feel free to move it to another thread if you feel this one isn’t the right one for it). Something I was thinking about. Lets stop hiring from bottom of table teams.Olam is a good player still our backline will be better than dragons backline was in 2023
Lomax would be a better centre than what we have e.g. starford naden tupou kepoa etc and a good goal kicker
You don't do that by playing him off the bench in 1sts getting 8-10 minutes a week. He's got to play 80mins a week in Flegg or CupI think we need to develop TDS as a 9
Totally agree with this. I think it would be sensible to start the year with Simpkin at 14. Latu and TDS then to shoot out for 14 2nd half of the year. There's alot to be gained from Latu, TDS and Galvin forming some partnerships in lower grades. You don't do that by playing him off the bench in 1sts getting 8-10 minutes a week.
