Simple game plans with this lot until the dust settles. Not looking at ladder position this year although top eight is success in the NRL.
I think Benji needs to have a plan that will align with his player’s abilities.
Sezer is a steady halfback so our game must be based on structure and a low error count.
Our other half will have L plates on so keeping the game simple will be important.
I’d be looking at using the big frames of Naden and Olam to get early go forward, with the aim to turn sides around and give them the ball back deep in their territory, our pack should focus on being a team that looks to intimidate in defence (never really been us).
If we can win some low scoring games I’ll be happy, it’ll indicate we understand who we are, we’re not built to win point scoring shoot outs.
We do have some attacking prowess in slices.
We need more support and options for Api. I gew really tired of watching missed opportunities and watching Api having to die with the ball. Then the next few plays wed fumble about.
The exciting news about salad is that he should be able to land his kicks where he wants them most of the time, instead of the Brooksy lucky dip of poor ambition.
I’m sure Brooksy got every kick at training right, then he’d get this stage fright thing and options became poorly thought out and poorly executed.
Causing some chaos at their line with boys running through might be better than passing to slow backs. It depends of course on gaps and opponents.
But I agree that the grind is our best chance unless we smell blood.
And hopefully we see the end of our national broadcasting of attack in advance. Api sometimes has the Defence in two or three minds, all of our players need this awesome attribute.
