2024 Pre-Season

It’s ironic that you’ve afforded Brooks every excuse under the sun but always slag Benji & Robbie for not winning enough

I would suggest the irony lies with the that people calling a bloke who didn't win much more than he lost a winner...

Benji and Robbie were 2 of the best players of the past generation
- Benji a once in a lifetime player...
Yes -
I think Players of that Calibre should have a winning percentage likened to Smith or Slater...

Or at least making the top half of the comp even half of the time...

Injuring his knee in Round 6 against the Parramatta Eels, Doueihi is set to miss the majority of the upcoming season and won't likely be able to return until the middle of the season.

This paragraph 😂
Poorly written, yes. But the question remains why did Sheens, Pascoe and Lee decide to resign him?

I dare say there’s blokes who played for Melbourne over that period who have much higher winning percentages yet failed to achieve his accomplishments.

Are you now saying that Benji Marshall the Winner didn't have a high winning percentage?

How many of the blokes you're thinly referencing here - had the skillset of
Benji Marshall?.. I'll wait.

None... and that's the point.
They had better winning percentages because they were in much stronger teams and not because of their talent.
Not hard to work out.
Ken Irvine is the greatest try scorer in history yet his winning team percentage was very poor.

On the Benji debate, is there any doubt he’s our greatest ever Wests Tigers player, at his best he was as good as anyone I’ve ever seen.
As a coach he’s no doubt saying the right things. I think 90% of our fans are happy with the direction he is taking and happy to give him time ti show us what he can bring as our coach,

Lay off the jungle juice champ, if you can't see that he is a winner you obviously don't know what one is. Calculators and percentages are for nerds.

They all play to win mate...

Winning makes them 'Winners'
Winning every other week does not.
Winning championships and Golden Boots, Test Series makes you a winner, news flash, not winning every weekend game against dogshit opposition. Winners win big games not ones that no one remembers, Jesus wept.

So true, some bums have winning percentages over 70% but never won a title, Golden Boot or Test series but they are "winners", what a load of shit.

Not all great players are in a great environment, a point you always seem to miss.

Benji plays at Melbourne with Slater, Smith and Cronk he’s winning at 95%.

Word of the day: Context.

This is how I reckon we'll line up in our 1st trial next week.

Leaving out those with any injuries or niggles (Olam, Sullivan, Bateman, AD, Sam Fainu) and Latu Fainu suspended.

Reckon we'll go in close to full strength in 1st half to build combos & act as a reward for pre-season then ease those senior players out of the game.

Fullback - Bula (Staines & Naden in 2nd half)
Wings - Staines, Tupou (Lobb & Alaimalo in 2nd half)
Centres - T'oa, Naden (Feledy, Faataape, Galvin & Tupou rotating through in 2nd half)
Halves - Galvin, Sezer (Matai & Oliver Lawry rotating through with Sezer in 2nd half)
Lock - Seyfarth (Matamua in 2nd half)
Backrowers - IPap, Kepaoa (Tumeth & Sukkar in 2nd half)
Props - Uto, Klemmer (Pole, Twal & Sione Fainu on rotation)
Hooker - Api (Simpkin & Da Silva on rotation)

Then in 2nd trial, Latu Fainu & few others who have impressed in pre-season (Kit Laulilii, Faagutu & Solo Saukuru) to replace some of the secondaries above plus hopefully Sullivan, Sam Fainu good to go by then.

Let's see.
