Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We can play him for 30, then bring him back on around 55 minutes, we just need another option in attack
I'd like to see a bit more of him playing 80 mins in Reggie's to understand what he offers and how we can best use him
Looks like he cld benefit from some match fitness tbh

Would love to see him there but idk if his body can handle 80 mins in the middle just yet
Of course it can't!

Do you also seriously expect him to make hard yardage carries as a middle forward @851 - as all the other small locks in the comp like Cotter and McInnes do?

Does anyone remember the Titans game last year where he played lock to add some variety - but got steamrolled by Tino???

Lock has NEVER been a position to just ball-play - and while it did become an extra prop in the last 15 years - I welcome the skill back into the position.

BUT those skilled locks over the years were also big and hardened forwards who could hit and make hard yards - with the current top crop of Yeo - Radley - Carrigan - Murray proving my point!

Latu can fill in at lock to add some ball-playing - but starting him there and expecting him to spark our attack is fairytale stuff!!

Something is brewing at the Dolphins with Bostocks stock continuing to rise I doubt he doesn’t have a wing spot locked down next year and Issako isn’t going anywhere. They also have Farmworth and Averillo in centres so I’m unsure where the dolphins would play Tupou.

I reckon it’ll be Averillo to make way - I’d offer Dolphins a straight swap and they can get him a season early and we could give Averillo FG football. Seems a win win.
Is this the way to Averillo? 🤣

No they aren’t … they are just as bad

you just haven’t seen Toa for a month and forgot how bad he actually is
To’a was average with his tackling and passing. On the wing he’ll do a lot less of both.

He is quicker than Tupou and decent at catching bombs.

I don’t see a better option on the wing. Lobb is too slow and ineffective for yardage gain.

One or two seconds quicker play the balls over an entire game adds up to losing the ruck, and the ensuing problems that creates

I counted a lot of the PTBs from the time player hit the deck to heeling the ball...penrith consistently beat us for 80 mins

Penrith created a lot of their own problems today they were off
1 or 2 seconds is a bit of stretch - according to NRL stats it was .16 of a second average difference over the game.

Toa has a signicantly better tackle % at centre then either of Olam or Naden. Fully fit Toa is our 2nd best centre

I think we need to buy 3 solid first graders , we’re are not quite there yet to compete each week specially against teams like Panthers , Storm , Broncos , Our reserve grade side got pumped as well , I didn’t see the game but I don’t think we have players ready to step up or oust current first graders .
Wing , Centre , prop / Back rower combo

Toa is not average … he is very below average in fact ..: he has never done anything outside of one game … which is in fact a bigger indictment as it shows he has ability but never uses it …

He is part of the problem and not the solution .. get rid of him

Wiser option would probably be starting Pole, bring on Latu at 20 mins and then again at 60 mins

Can’t start Latu, he would be the smallest starting lock in the game and at his age could do some real damage

Toa's ability isn't the problem. We have all seen what he can do. It's his lack of standards in doing his best thats the issue.
