OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Yes I have been advocating for him to have a rest for a few weeks now. Go back and win the Flegg comp. Take TDS and some of the others with him and create a winning combination. Bring them through together next year.
We've won heaps of Flegg and Ball comps. Doesn't translate to NRL. Winning junior combinations rarely transfer to NRL. NRL is an entirely different beast.

Todays generation change their mind more often than their underpants
Yeah, I'm reluctant to label any generation, it usually causes an uproar. I guess the times keep changing and we just have to get used to it. The way things are these days is everyone just wants to go to the top sides and win something, instead of staying somewhere else that gave you the start and winning with them.

Thats where Luai is different. Like he said himself, he wants the challenge, and for that alone, he will become one of my favourite players. We need a Pied Piper, hopefully it's him.

I look at Tedesco and think of the premierships he won ( 2 or 3? I don't count or care), but to me, 1 of those with a low club, be it us or anyone else would be worth more. Cronk the same. I will always tip my hat to his effort playing with a broken shoulder, but the achievement of going from Storm to Roosters to win will never make him a great in my books. ( i do think he is great, just not for that) Hopefully at some stage, we have a "hero" so to speak, who may not even win a comp, but gets this club to being a consistent top performing club and will be able to look back and know they did this. ( Luai)

From Buzz in the DT…

The Wests Tigers are in crisis with revelations their two best young players want out after Friday night’s embarrassing capitulation to St George-Illawarra.

Boom utility star Lachlan Galvin and front-rower Stefano Utoikamanu are both disgruntled after nine straight losses and the likelihood of three straight wooden spoons.

Galvin was overheard in the Wests Tigers dressing room after the56-14 loss to the Dragonssaying that he wanted out, despite being under contract until the end of 2026.

Your columnist understands his manager Isaac Moses has spoken to Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson about the situation and the fact he is being asked to play each weekend with a fracture in his hand.

We have reached out to both Moses and Richardson.

Rothfield has updated the article now with below:

Wests Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson confirmed on Saturday night that Galvin’s manager Isaac Moses had approached the club on Thursday seeking a release.

“We have no intention of releasing him,” Richardson said, “It’s as simple as that.

“It’s disappointing that the request has been made but I’m going to have a meeting with his mum and dad next week.

“I think there’s a lot of reasons behind it.

“He’s a young kid, we’re not winning games, and he’s finding it difficult.

“All I can say we have Jarome Luai coming next year and we’ll have him, Api (Koroisau) and Jahream Bula in the spine.

“We have a contract in place with Lachlan and we intend to hold him to it.”
