I think under Benji , if he asked to be let go he will get it , I don’t think Benji wants players in this team like that , could be wrong but we must also think of the other 30 odd players watching this and think I’m playing with a guy who don’t want to be hear and my mate is in reserve grade busting his butt and just missing a start , want to be hear and this dik is in the road

On the other hand that could back fire 🔥 u may have a whole team lining up for a release, and our under 10 s may have to fill the gap

Well that’s not true because he’s already asked and been denied. Please don’t buy into the “he’ll release players if they don’t want to be here” line because that’s rubbish. Each situation will be treated differently. Was easy with Ice because the club was not getting any value for money whatsoever. With a young kid, with a big future, currently on minimum wage, they aren’t going to say “sure, you can go”. I find it mind boggling that people are encouraging the club to release any player who asks for a release and the ridiculous precedent that would set. What happens if 15 players want out under that scenario? It’s not feesible. You have to treat every player on their own merits.

Even our club, as dumb as it is, know you can’t give mandates like that to the whole squad.

He’s probably on the same money as Alex Lobb, maybe slightly more. Value for money is very minimal.

I agree mate with what you have said but it’s not the first time he asked for a release , it’s 2. , 3 , 4 times , this has mum and dad all over it , and worse , he was apparently heard saying it in the dressing shed going off that old Buzz shit head , was buzz in the room , was he at the door or do we have a grub passing stuff on , sometimes the poison needs to be removed , he probably is a great kid with a huge future but tryouts just can’t keep asking for releases you won’t get value out of himm. And if and it’s a big if 15 players in our current team requested a release I would be very interested as that’s about how many in our 30 need to go

They either get him to “give it another year “ due to Luia coming … but if he genuinely wants to leave and isn’t interested in that …I think they will let him go

I could dump 10 today mate probably 15 I’m just saying it’s a bad look from the kid , parents , Manager and also makes the club look weak , hears another one , Monday clubs says you want out , kid says yep , what do you do ? Let him go pay with his mates in the lower grades / Juniors , get that winning feeling back

To ask for a release on Thursday the day before a game is quite ordinary. To ask for a release when he is getting more at this club in 2024 then he would have at any other club is ordinary.

Once again I will stress how pathetic and disgusting the NRL are. The way they allow Isaac Moses to do what he does is yet another example how weak they are.

This is poor character from Lachlan, but he is a kid really. We all remember when we were 18 and being influenced by people we trust and love (his parents in this case). No doubt his parents just want what's best for him, but we all know the result last time there was a parent way too involved in their sons career, it doesn't end well for us.

Just on the future, I'm not going to say that Latu or Galvin is the better player. Galvin has attributes that are better then Latu, while Latu has attributes that are better then Galvin.

What I will say is though, our backrowers, centres and fullback will all prefer to play outside Latu rather then Galvin. I'll put my house on that.

If I was to compare the 2 to established stars in regards to how they engage the defence to create space for their outside men, Galvin is like a slower Munster, while Latu is more like a Cliff Lyons, Cody Walker combo.

We have to get Latu's body right.

Apparently Richo's going to talk to Galvin's parents about this request for release. I think it's a safe bet he'd have conferred with Benji before he issued his statement rejecting it out of hand. I think he's staying for sure.

It’s crazy that an 18yo is playing full-time first grade and has been guaranteed his jersey for however long he wants it seeks a release when we aren’t winning enough.

Sometimes the grass isn’t greener on the other side. Just look at what happened to Walker, Croft, Ilias, etc

See out your contract and re-assess. I hope this kid is getting the guidance he needs and I hope that guidance isn’t driven by money.
