OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

These players that want out are a part of the problem in a losing team , it’s time they man up and help their mates dig themselves out of the hole instead of carrying on like sooks and thinking they can go elsewhere
They need constant reassurance that quality troops are on the way.
I hope Richo has some confidential news to tell them on recruits, but just can't be announced before 1st Nov or whatever?
Strictly confidential info that cannot be mentioned beyond the room. Especially to Mosses!

If I am a GM at another club and watching this play out, I am thinking what am I getting myself into? Injury, loss of form or boom junior who is better and Lachie needs to be shifted to another position, or god forbid - dropped, am I going to have numerous requests to leave from Mum and Dad, manager and co for a release?
Reminds me of Cush from Jerry Maguire. We are getting Cushlash.

I'm pretty confident that's where he will end up. He may not like it, but he is already a little slow for 5/8. 3 years and some bulk, he will be either a Yeo type lock or John Cartwright type backrower.

If he goes to Penrith he most certainly will end up at lock replacing Yeo
He’s not replacing Yeo.
Yeo would be one of the first picked every week and will be for the next 5 years.

To be fair- I think all fans understand Galvin is the type of player, skill-wise, the club requires.

But we don't necessarily lose based on skill.

The 'volunteers not prisoners' ideal is actually important. For the club to turn things around- the players need to be invested. Canberra is a great example of a club built on this. Less skillful than most teams- but they WANT to play together.

The Tigers can afford to lose skill if it gains commitment. Not 100% of skill, obviously, but that desire to be at the club needs to be a priority.

I think people, fans, in general understand this & that is a driver for wanting to move the malcontents on.

It is far easier to have the "right" attitude in a one team town or city like Canberra compared to being in an area where you don't even have to move home to find other clubs that would like to have you. What makes it worse for us is the fact that we have been the worst managed club in a city for over a decade where all players can move to more attractive clubs without leaving home.
Our crap executive/board over the years is really starting to hurt despite them trying to change for the better recently

I suspect all 16 other clubs would have some interest in Galvin… if he became available on the open market he would remain there about as long as Ice did … around 24 hours before someone signing him

Crazy how fast everyone turns. As supporters we know the club is a mess, yet clutch the pearls when players who are capable of being in a better team, don’t want to be apart of the mess.
I’m convinced you are just trolling nowadays mate ? Do you actually want the Tigers to win or do you just like upsetting the people on this forum ? Seriously mate you cannot understand Fans wanting their 18 year old 5/8 that is only playing there because we are a weak clun to at least finish his rookie season without trying to break a three year contract after just 8 games that he has played because we gave him an opportunity to be part of a rebuild ? Seriously do you not understand that some of us would appreciate seeing just a smidgen of commitment to his team and his teammates? That if he sees himself as a star then he sees he can help the club become a winning club because we have him at 5/8 ?? FFS a bit of team spirit and giving back to the team is how champion teams are made , no I in team mate !

Totally agree champ, for me Latu is the keeper and injuries have just stopped him being above Galvin. Latu and Luai combo would be deadly.
Luai is a consistently topflight NRL half. Get him at WTs next year with Turuva and the team changes. I wrote earlier in the year having Galvin at our club meant something had gone wrong in the NRL. Clubs like WTs are not supposed to have the best young talent in the game. Now which club has lost many big name players, especially a half, and requires new players?

Cool bro.. contracts are still contracts and his “job” signed a contract to play for 3 years at this club .. if it’s a job and he wants to treat it that way then let him play Flegg and reserve grade ..

Yeah just ask Ice and Liddle ,..contracts are just contracts …

Let’s see how long they want to keep around a guy crying in the dressing room every week that he wants out after another flogging …great for the team morale…

You need to take emotion out of it. The club isn’t going to react like a lot of people want them to, and nor should they

, as I said , if he wants to “win” drop him to SG ball for. A couple of weeks . Time is on our side , and he is not dominating right now . I want Galvin at the club, I believe he will become a top class player , I think at lock but maybe 5/8, but no way on the world do we need to release him right now ..

Well I never suggested releasing him straight away …my earlier suggestion today was that you do what you can to get him at the very least to stay here in 2025 and give Luia a chance to move the team forward ..…

if he still wants out after that..you may as well release him a year early and try to trade him for someone…

What concerns me is that there is a lack of NRL talent at the team now… which doesn’t seem to be being addressed … the way things stand at the moment ..are you expecting them to be better next year with Ice and Stef likely gone …

I hope Galvin watched the Penrith game and saw who his half partner will be next year. Luai was great.
Put the crocodile tears away and knuckle down.
Maybe he watched the game and thought how good it would be to play with all of his teammates? 🤔
