Poor old Noddy Kimmorley was thrown in at the deep end as Our Coach for the last 6 or so games at the end of 2022 when we were a real mess.
Well, this is 2024 and We are still in just a big mess, maybe even worse as far as wins are concerned.
Only difference is Benji volunteered to be chucked in the deep end without by the look of it, the proper life coaching support to keep him and the players afloat.
I really and truly don't see Richo making it to the end of his contract with the health issues he is fighting against.
Then we'll really see and feel the 💩 hit the fan.
But I will of course be happy to be wrong for Richo's sake.

seen those coaches with really poor rosters have you?

Not necessarily but I’ve seen them develop unheralded players over the years. They also identify productive recruitment targets. I’m sure we’d all feel much more positive if one of those guys were in charge, rather than our current situation.

I'll challenge that.
What he did was smart.
He hired a sports scientist for an edge.
unfortunately that scientist dabbled in a gray area that was deemed illegal.
Smart idea but wrong guy.

He is a fantastic coach though and i guarantee when the results would come people will quickly forget, saints fans have.

Please... either he knew what Dank was doing in which case he knowingly and deceitfully drugged his own players, or he didn't know what Dank was doing which means he was reckless and failed to show any kind of care or oversight as head coach.

Both ar terrible disgusting characteristics of one of your leaders and I will never support him having another gig.

Realistically we could have done whatever we wanted. It would have turned out great too because Bennett was sacked anyway.

That's all hindsight nonsense. Our coach had just quit to join another team and we had some momentum approaching the Top 8 with a revised squad - you don't hire some interim hasbeen or rookie coach the following season.

Madge was a reasonable hire under those circumstances, he had a great pedigree.

The fact that Bennett was eventually sacked is irrelevant to Tigers and only helpful to Souths who were in our same position but had lucky timing.

How many Bulldogs fans wanted Ciraldo out after last season where they had the worst defence in the competition? Look at them now flying high 3 wins in a row, playing some real gritty tough footy & into the top 8. And seeing the effect that Stephen Crichton has had on that team gives me great confidence that Luai is going to come here & do the exact same thing. I’m not saying that this will happen to us next year but things take time there are processes & it’s important you stick to them instead of changing plans whenever things get tough. Have a listen to what Phil Gould said on 100% footy tonight about WT’s. Provided some real good & smart analysis.

Ciraldo has the team humming. They are bonded, there is no doubt. When he came here before the Sheens/Marshall appointment, he rejected us on the basis more heavy lifting to be done. That heavy lifting is still being done.
Apart from getting his team humming at the Dogs, the one thing he has that Marshall doesn't (as i alluded to earlier) is having a good reserve grade side to replace injured players. Not only reserve grade, but Flegg, SG Ball and Harold Matts have all been strong results in that club over the last couple of years. Unfortunately in our club this was rejected for a long, long time and it takes a hell of a lot of work and time to turn it around. I don't know if Marshall will be the man for that, but i"m not prepared to hang him for not fixing something in 6 months that was destroyed for more than a decade.

Ciraldo struggled last season with Mahoney Kikau JAC and Burton in his team. Add a marquee and six FG players from good systems and the improvement is evident. It's not rocket science it's about resources. Can guarantee if six or seven of them get injured they will be struggling again.
