Penrith seem very quiet that they are losing genuine stars every year whilst the Roosters are clearly cheating.
I'll put it in simple terms. Over the past 5 years, the value of the Panthers squad has increased significantly, so they've to shed players to stay within the cap. At the end of 2019, they moved on two of their highest paid players in RCG and Maloney to upgrade others. And each year since, as they've upgraded Edwards, Luai, Yep, Leota, To'o etc from modest contracts, they've offloaded established players and recruited middle of the road guys like Sorensen, Eissenhuth and Garner to fill their squad.
The Roosters, on the other hand, almost never lose players of the calibre of Kikau, Koroisau, Luai or Crichton due to cap pressure. RTS, Mitchell, Manu and Suaalii all left/are leaving for personal reasons. Far from losing players to manage the cap, the Roosters recruit established stars like Cronk, Tedesco, Crichton, Smith and Leinu.
I say they are rotting the system, and one day NIC will piss someone off and they will spill the beans , just like what happened with the stormso are they cheating then or not? You see to be implying they are …And the rest of the teams like their bitter rivals Souths just cop it sweet ?
For all the wankery over the Roosters… they have won the comp three times in 22 yearsI say they are rotting the system, and one day NIC will piss someone off and they will spill the beans , just like what happened with the storm
No that’s what everyone is missing.Exactly..you pay a player out 400g and replace him with a 400g player and you have 800g comes off your cap. I guess if it is to create a roster spot to promote a kid on a low tier contract it might be a solution. Shopping the contracts is a way better solution even if you have to pay half the frieght
I totally agree with that attitude.Nope.
I just steadfastly refuse to play the victim, nor buy into conspiracy theories of cheating.
Sulking about how another team forms their roster is the work of losers.

Once you pay a player out it is only a portion that comes out of your cap, nowhere near the full amount.
Yes the club has to cons up with the money, but the cap space is nowhere near dollar for dollar.
I'm with @supercoach on this one. I don't think this is true.No that’s what everyone is missing.

The Bulldogs over the last few seasons have offloaded plenty while still under contract, they are not paying the full salary cap wages for all those players I can assure you.Mate .. you keep saying this… but sounds dodgy as f…
When has this happened previously ?
I totally agree with that attitude.
Don’t play victim, play better.
But you are sticking your head in the sand if you don’t think everyone is cheating the cap or at least trying to.
But there’s no point sooking about that either. Just get better at cheating the cap. Employ an analyst, a lawyer and an accountant as ground staff and start being the best cap cheaters in the league
Especially as it seems so obvious to Tigers supportersthis is the point I think … they are either all doing it or they are playing by the rules … if only one was doing it ..the other 16 would be screaming blue murder about it ..

If anyone spills the beans on the roosters, they better watch out, the Greek mafia will get them and their family….everyone knows it tooI say they are rotting the system, and one day NIC will piss someone off and they will spill the beans , just like what happened with the storm
I suggest you find the episode of 💯 Footy from early this season where Gould himself stated the Salary Cap rules have changed where you can now pay a player out who is under contract but no longer wanted by the club and only a portion of the payout comes off the clubs Salary Cap.I would suggest you have no idea what was charged to their salary cap … and are just guessing

There still are repercussions, but it’s a percentage and less which overall Gould stating is less than half of the players contract value.mate… with respect ..it’s your argument ..not mine … so you can do the searching and I’ll be happy to watch it
the main reason the salary cap was brought in was to “protect” clubs from overspending and going broke … if you can just pay out a guys contract to walk away with no repercussions….that doesn’t really seem to gel with that ideal

Yeah watch out if you upset the Greek Mafia you'll wake up the next morning and a half eaten souvlaki beside you in bed.If anyone spills the beans on the roosters, they better watch out, the Greek mafia will get them and their family….everyone knows it too
