Seyfarth does not have the attacking impact to play prop.Just as an aside...while I have proposed someone like Horsburgh...
What if the answer to "who should replace Utoikamanu" is actually an in house option that we constantly overlook?
Against the Titans & Raiders, we had Alex Seyfarth run 143 & 132m respectively, off the bench. His minutes per game are way up now. His tackle breaks are over double where they were 2 years ago. His defence is in the low-to-mid 90% range for his career & he is double his metres in a season on his last 2 seasons.
Has Seyfarth quietly developed into a starting prop?
He's that burst of energy that comes on and throws himself at every tackle in defence and annoys the opposition. His effort is admirable and he works hard, but what he makes up for in effort, he lacks in talent. There's a spot for him off the bench, but he is no front rower or starting back rower.
If it's true that Richo is headed to England again, we don't know what seeds he's sewn on his first trip. We may see a front rower signing come from nowhere once a deal has been done.
Horsborough is a fake stand over man and way too emotional. We need better as our starting prop.
