Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Just as an aside...while I have proposed someone like Horsburgh...

What if the answer to "who should replace Utoikamanu" is actually an in house option that we constantly overlook?

Against the Titans & Raiders, we had Alex Seyfarth run 143 & 132m respectively, off the bench. His minutes per game are way up now. His tackle breaks are over double where they were 2 years ago. His defence is in the low-to-mid 90% range for his career & he is double his metres in a season on his last 2 seasons.

Has Seyfarth quietly developed into a starting prop?
Seyfarth does not have the attacking impact to play prop.

He's that burst of energy that comes on and throws himself at every tackle in defence and annoys the opposition. His effort is admirable and he works hard, but what he makes up for in effort, he lacks in talent. There's a spot for him off the bench, but he is no front rower or starting back rower.

If it's true that Richo is headed to England again, we don't know what seeds he's sewn on his first trip. We may see a front rower signing come from nowhere once a deal has been done.

Horsborough is a fake stand over man and way too emotional. We need better as our starting prop.

But the more I think about it- Corey Horsburgh from the Raiders has been punted to KOE & is a far superior player to that. What he adds is aggression. And if we can't can't meet teams with power, I feel fighting them with honest aggression is the go.

A pack that features Horsburgh, Klemmer, Bateman, Seyfarth & Sam Fainu....I think it puts the hurt on a bunch of teams. You then blend in the silkier players like Pole & Sione Fainu & Matamua...

I think Horsburgh is an attainable target. I'd love to have him in our club.
Hey VUC .. I see Corey "Big Red" Horsburgh has been charge with .. head butting and throwing punches in KOE Cup game from the weekend .. fire up Big Red .. !!

It’s not the signing , it’s that the dogs get things done while we sit on our hands and wonder why the hell are we getting wooden spoons , Richo and benji speak the speak but so far nothing is happening, papa gone maybe Bateman , stepho looks like going and what the hell have we got to should for it , a bunch of kids who will take 2-3 years to get up to speed . Get of ur arses Richo and benji and get some help before we lose more players
We've Luai and Turuva, I'd say that is getting matters done. We need to be selective with our recruits as many of the names mentioned in this thread are better off staying at their clubs to improve our chances. We just need to select our targets carefully which the club has been doing since Richardson arrived. There are also a couple of very handy young footballers - Pole, Makasini and no doubt a few others we need to retain as a priority.

Gain Luai and Turuva .. lose Ice and Stef … Some might say that’s wheel spinning

I believe we are well ahead on this scorecard. Luai would have to be up with the best 7s in the NRL. Turuva is also a high class recruit. Papali'i and Utoikamanu are fine players. Finding replacements for a prop and second row forward imo is easier than one of the best 7s and a high class 3 or 4.
