Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Test the market..? linguistically speaking- I WANT OUT
I disagree, I think it is just smart.
Imagine at your work you had a contract, and when it was finishing, you had 4 other competitors you know were really eager to offer you a deal.
Would you re commit or have that chat over linkedin?

for al Stef knows, the roosters might want to offer him 1 mil over 5 years. Wouldnt you want to at least know that if you were him or his manager?

I am the biggest tigers supporter on this forum by some distance but if a team like the roosters offered me 200 a year more to coach I would jump without a thought.

Possession was 51%-49% to Roosters, time in possession was Tigers 26.15 minutes, Roosters 27.36 minutes, defence was Tigers 339 tackles, Roosters 332, so your assumption is as good as Steph's game, which was very ordinary
Well said and I was thinking the same thing.

The stats are incredibly even for a game we lost 40 - 6.
It tells us that we have real problems shutting down class wingers. Yes Radley/May scored in the middle, but that was later when we had already conceded 20+ points.

We really need backline consistent defense. Stef, Klem and the rest can work their arses off in the middle. If we are not able to defend our backline then we will see teams put a heap of points on us.

It's truly a shame because I remember our forward pack getting hammered in 2022. I don't think we have a 16th Forward pack, we definately have backs that deserve to come last in the NRL.

There is no doubt the Bulldogs, Rabbitohs, Roosters and Panthers will all be in the queue to sign Stef.
I'm pretty sure that our wannabe future captain/leader will probably go alright if he goes somewhere else, but then Woodsy also comes to mind.

I am hoping Stef stays (we can do with his size) I wouldn’t be upping his offer though just the opposite reducing it by 10K a week,
If he is serious about staying he should sign,
Let him gamble that he might get more from someone else.
And if he doesn’t we end up with him at a lower price.
If he goes i would like that offer given to that Bronco’s prop willison who I think will end up a better prospect.
I agree but would tell him the current offer will be withdrawn on 31 July. Take it or leave it. Club needs certainty moving forward.

Tapine 14 runs for 147 metres in a Raiders team that had 40% posession.
That's what props who want 800k a year do.
Can we all drop off with the excuses.
You want elite money, play some elite football.
You look at tackle breaks or just metres covered?

Seeing that there is 100m between try lines, it doesn't really matter if a fit leading prop breaks a hundred tackles if he only gets 59% of that distance from all his runs without scoring.
It was less than a fortnight ago he did score so that stat can be put in the bin with the others.

Compare Stef to Payne Haas in 2020 when the Broncos got the spoon. Payne was in his second season, yet week in week out was one of the best players on the park and always racked up his metres. There is no excuse for Stef's lack of effort with the ball in the Roosters game and it's incredible that some can't see it.
Payne will likely go down as the best prop ever, Stef won’t.

* if his team has any success
