Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If we don’t sign at least another couple of quality players, we will finish last again in 2025, no ifs and buts about it.
AND Richo needs to fill/replace the holes in our football & high performance department.

- A new assistant coach who for our attack who brings experience & respect amongst players & player managers.
- Specialist coaching, replace what's not working & add what we don't have.
- A review of our medical team (the whole Olam knee situation makes me nervous of our current set-up).
- A review of our NSW Cup coaching setup

Mate it's almost 4 in the morning I will talk about them later today

But after many friends died of cancer I started reading up on cancer for many years At one stage I had 3 friends die of cancer over a 12 week period

One person I helped is still alive after I went toe to toe with the head of cancer at Sutherland hospital

If you get chemotherapy your death rate is in the high 90 percent for most cancers

They use to keep record of them amount of people who live more then 2 years that didn't have chemotherapy and they stopped doing that because it made the chemo look bad

But I will post later today but cancer is a metabolic disease first think cut all carbs cancer fuel is carbs it doesn't run on a ketogenic diet
Mate, respectfully, this is dangerous territory.

If you get chemotherapy your death rate is in the high 90 percent for most cancers.

No.

Survival rates are dependent on so many variables (type of designation, stage, whether it's localised, regional or distant, and a myriad of other co-morbidities, etc) and the numbers are not even close to that.

cut all carbs cancer fuel is carbs it doesn't run on a ketogenic diet

No.

There is some (very) early literature that suggests that the metabolic pathway of many common types of tumours may preclude it from growing or spreading at the same rate in an environment devoid of glucose, but importantly, these studies are almost exclusively in vitro (in the lab). There simply is not enough evidence in actual controlled human trials to say ANYTHING definitively about the role of dietary approach and it's efficacy on the control of the growth of cancer cells, much less to state that it cancer 'doesn't run on a ketogenic diet'.

I knew a bloke who did 6 years at Kings College, ended up being a plumber and playing bass in a punk band

Personally I've never understood the private school thing. So much of it seems like a big wank. The nastiness and snobbiness between parents gets pretty bad from my understanding, especially the sporting side of private schools.

Their insistence on doing their sport in Saturday is plain wrong IMO. School commitments 6 days a week and effecting a child's ability to play his own sport and make friends outside of his school is taken away. Unless they subject themselves to 7 days of commitments and play something on a Sunday. I know in the summer the private school cricket system is such a chest beating toss off between parents.

As it currently stands we have approximately 10 players signed to our top 30 for 2025 that are highly unlikely to have the ability to play or if they do play, are not good enough to make a positive impact at NRL level for the 2025 season.
If Richo and Benji cannot see that they must be watching the marbles and not the Wests Magpies or Wests Tigers games.

As others have said, I won't clog this thread up any further, but those two studies I referenced were from 2020 and 2022 respectfully, not 'olden days'.

And if your response is by sharing a YouTube clip, then you're nowhere near equipped enough to talk properly about a subject like this.

Dunning Kruger effect mate.

I don't understand this comment.

We have two of thr biggest signings for next year. 2 players coming from the most successful club of the modern era and somehow we are supposedly struggling?
Just because we haven't signed anyone in the last 2 months.
We need another 5-6 signings from outside the club as we currently don't have much quality in the club ready to contribute at NRL level anytime soon.

This also necessitates releasing a lot of dead wood, eg Toa, Naden, Feledy, Faatape, Tumeth, Sullivan, Sukkar, maybe Seyfarth and possibly someone like Kit (who should only be on a development contract)

You are 100% correct, read Dr Seyfried for the latest Independent research. Big Pharma who fund doctors education research make so much money from chemo that they dont want cures to be known. Most peoples faith in the Medical System Industry is foolishly misplaced but that is all most people, including our politicians know!

In my opinion Feledy is a decent chance of becoming a good NRL player. I know he’s on the small side and not overly fast, but he runs the ball aggressively and is a genuine tackle breaker. He also hits top speed quickly and is fast over the first 10-30 metres. His defence is a work in progress, but is decent for a 19 year old centre.
I honestly believe he has much more upside than Faatape, Luke Laulilli or Saukuru.
I would say there would be a few rival clubs willing to take Feledy off our hands and put him in their top 30 if we didn’t want him.

What about the guy from I think Oxford University that took 200 million pounds about 10 years ago to say statins are good when they are the worst thing for you

And yet the world’s richest man died of pancreatic cancer… but he just wasn’t in the loop I guess. He should have watched more YouTube.
