Yep just because your predecessors had a shit idea it doesn't mean you have to roll with it, Benji should be playing the long game here. Put his hand up and say i need more time, it could be 5 yrs or more as an assistant. Even then he may not cut it as a coach but at least you can't say he hasn't done a good apprenticeship.
You have to factor in being a rookie as rookie as you can get coach with the worst roster by the length of the Flemington straight and its not going to work.

Hate to say this but we took a step back into 2023 tonight. That was the worst game this season. The lack of intent and aggression in D was so poor it reminded me of the days when the players looked like they wanted to be somewhere else.
The next few weeks will be dark.

Although Titans have struggled this year there discipline is miles better then ours under Hasler and the same with the Dragons who finished just above us last year.

I am a Benji fan and yet I can’t disagree. In defense we don’t have basic structures; no straight lines in defense, no numbering up, leaving weak defenders isolated.
In attack we barely put on set plays, it’s all slow motion, everyone running the same angles, very predictable and easy to contain.

I have definitely been one to support the coaches more, blaming a lack of talent and depth in the playing squad, however a game like tonight where the whole squad looks disinterested to man up makes me wonder if the coaches just aren’t getting through to these guys.

Agreed, they go sideways and they seem to have one play, a block or second man that never ever works when the defence just jams in on the receiver and yet we continue to try the same damn terrible move .. aren’t they professional players that train during the week ?? What the hell do they do ? They seem to lose the contact in every tackle as well

These teams also grind away and you can see improvement week to week. Over the season they’re getting better. We’re getting worse

With the exception of Pole, Bula and Galvin it was poor across the board. Another week of high linebreak numbers against us (a lot through and around our edges again). Lack of gameplan and cohesion when we had the ball too.

We have a tall winger in Lobb but never bomb to him....don't choose him if you aren't going to use it...the rest of his game isn't up to NRL standard.

Sezer and Stefano came out with the wrong attitude and were the 2 worst on ground.

I usually like finding positives...but there was very little to take from that game tonight.

We bombed to Lobb twice ....he didn't chase either time

Tonight so many were terrible only Pole and Bula passable
The rest horrible .Api I think worn out trying to run such a weak team
Maybe good if he gets a break .
The biggest mismatch was their wingers vs ours who didn't tackle didn't catch high ball and made no breaks
Rest of season its a write off !

Dont think Pole deserves a pass tonight. He had as few run metres and as many missed tackles as the rest of them.
