LIVE GAME Round 19 vs. Sharks

Benji out of his element unfortunately
Flanno was a real sliding doors moment
Yep.

There were two points I see as us sliding instead of rising.

Us passing on Flanno as assistant coach. Yes he would have white-anted Madge, but we would have succeeded.

Adam Reynolds leaving souths for Brisbane on 800k. Madge still our coach and we spent 600k? on Jackson Hastings...

The turnstile... also cost us Api for 10!!

Weak prick tried for a ball steal rather than putting his body in front!

Porter (tries but is NOT an NRL player)
Lobb

They were puerile.
We have no props. We effectively played without props last night.
Porter's a nice guy, but he hasn't got the body to compete. He's getting smashed.
Lobb is just terrible. He's slow off the mark, awkward, scared, uncomfortable, but hey he is tall and that's all that matters on here.

You can't sack Benji. Luai, Turuva, Api have all signed or re-signed on the basis of him as coach. If we didn't have Luai you could probably think about it, but no way you recruit a top half on the back of Benji and then don't let Benji coach him. I think our best strategy would be to get a real hard arse disciplinarian in and let Benji be the mentor personal relations type coach above all that. But there's got to be someone pushing standards and that's not Benji.
This is the only way forward really. Although I thought John Morris would be playing that role. Need some experience in that coaching team

We did that to Madge and it worked out beautifully?

I can’t say I miss all those Joe Biden press conferences.

I saw the writing on the wall (Nobel Prize winner Gal) got the better of him in the press conference when he announced that he’d turned down 16 Applications and anointed himself as coach.

No matter what happens for the rest of the season Benji will not get sacked. The club has done so much work behind the scenes, with junior players and future players saying Benji is the future of the Tigers that they cannot and will not sack him.

Stated this before and after last night debacle we need a attacking coach, Skills and Devlopment coach, strength coach, sprint coach.

Adam Reynolds is the least of it. Being on the wrong side of sliding doors moments is our WT history.
Losing Teddy Moses JAC etc; not getting both Cleary’s; Jason Taylor; losing good players in weird circumstances like Tuiaki, Simona, Lui, even Korobeite; spending on dumb signings like Idris, Ballin; not realizing value of keeping players like Richards, Fifita, even Blake Austin! Spending huge cap on failures like Blair, Reynolds, Packer, Mbye et al; keeping average players at the expense of others, eg Brooks, Nofoaluma; and you can go back to how we had the eyes picked out of our 2005 squad - most of all Prince.

Now having Api, a developing Bula, Galvin, Fainu, Bole, plus with Luai, Turuva and a few more coming hopefully will see the doors slide our way.

Shonky Sheens pulled a fast one and looked after himself (more money),then bolted as soon as the proverbial hit the fan. What was even worse he spent a fortune buying Bateman (including a 250k release fee) and Klemmer who have been horrendous signings

I don’t know that Tim had the authority to do that, but it makes for a funny yarn. My feeling is the ones who do are hiding until the dust settles. Richo was right imho to liken the club to “a recovering alcoholic.“ We are only one ah ha moment away from relapse.

Agree. The test for Richo whether he has the gonads ,is whether he can punt Benji if we do not win another game this year? If he does'nt, then it shows he is not the all conquering CEO he has been made out to be.
Richo won't have a problem punting anyone not performing. Richos big problem is convincing Luai, Taruva and any other prospective players getting Benji out is the best move, considering they signed to play for him.
