Its pretty damn obvious where our issues are. Easier said than done as an armchair CEO but holey shit its pretty obvious to blind Freddy.

Winger and Centre are desperately needed to sure up the backs, our depth there isnt too bad to cover an injury here and there (Toa, Stains, Faats, LL) but its a must to grab an additional first grade ready winger and centre to walk into the starting line up.

On the other hand......our forwards all over the park 💩

Long 3 years ahead.
I agree with ur post , we need 3 forwards to fill the gap , but we need another 3 forwards to fill the bench , I thinks Staines can fill the wing spot , as I think the forwards really need the biggest turnover

Prince and Ellis were great signings no doubt. And their performances made them into Tigers legends.
However, at the time of their signing they were not near the marquee level that Luai already is at.
Hence, as a recruit from the market, IMO, Luai is the highest profile and biggest signing we have ever made.
I can’t think of any rivals to that, unless you consider McCracken et al in our maiden year. I won’t even mention Adam Blair.
Adam Blair was considered one of the big 4 in Melbourne.

Re: game plans.

To me, Luai’s greatest strength is his ability to play "eyes-up footy," thriving on creativity and improvisation rather than a rigid game plan. Take Harry Grant for example—he’s somewhat stagnated at the Storm due to a lack of freedom to express his creativity. This doesn’t mean he won’t develop in other aspects of his game, but it highlights how creative players can be stifled.

One key issue for us is that our outside backs currently lack both speed and size, making it hard to capitalise on field position and turn opportunities into points. Additionally, our halves aren't always effective at creating enough space for our second rowers, limiting our attacking options.
Luai’s creative playmaking and leadership can help address these problems. His ability to break through defensive lines and generate opportunities can alleviate our speed and size deficiencies, turning field position into tries where we’ve always struggled. His knack for creating space and making the most of attacking situations can also benefit our second rowers, helping them find more opportunities to score.

Marshall’s own career as a dynamic playmaker means he understands how to balance structure with creativity. As a coach, he will surely craft strategies that allow Luai’s skills to shine while also addressing our current limitations.

However, the effectiveness of Luai will depend on our go forward and finding the right halves partner IMO. While he excels in creative play, he lacks a strong kicking game, so partnering him with Galvin (who is still raw and learning) could be challenging. A structured playmaker like Aidan Sezer could complement him well, though his effectiveness may be limited by his age.
A great post Lauren👍. Good to see you back posting again, and hope everything is going really WELL for You and Your SON👼
Also good to see You being positive about Aiden Sezer as lots on here aren't.

Yes as a marquee signing Luai is way in front of the 2 I mentioned. Prince was given a lifeline by us and Ellis was an unknown at NRL level. I only hope that Luai has the same impact as those 2.

We are a prop short now. Klemmer is also regressing. Steph leaves and our front row stocks are 17th in the comp.

You are ok with us losing two current teir 1 International backrowers?

Olam has a knee injury. Get it fixed and he’ll be good for next year. We need a very good centre to join him. If this can’t be achieved, I’d try Galvin there.

They are serviceable. Not top teir by any stretch but will do a job.

Agreed. I’d split their workload minutes 50/30.

He is a green shoot. Losing forward mentors is a real shame for him. Every forward who leaves will need to be replaced by quality and experience to help bring the Fainus, Pole and whoever else on.

Galvin has options. Hopefully his ego or parents won’t get in the way. He could be a top teir lock. I don’t think the same can be said for him at 5/8. I would keep Sullivan as backup,
Yes we probably need two more props. One very decent and the other a good foil off the bench.

Bateman being an international backrower should have nothing to do with his rubbish individual performances for us. He's singlehandedly lost us games with his silly plays. He doesn't run straight and is a cat who runs only when he wants to. Not a good quality for a forward.

Olam will play better with guys around him but I can see why Bellamy was happy to get rid of him. His defence is shocking and he's got some dumb plays in him. I go back to dragons in wollongong when we are winning 16-0 and he drops it cold. I agree Galvin can be shaped into a second rower or centre with a bit more size in the off season. But lock is his best bet.

Turuva is top tier. His bad form should not play into some recency bias into him being a product of a great system. He was Fiji's best player in the world cup in a different position. Interesting to see his combination with Api and Bula.

Api keeps on making wrong decisions in attack passing to props or second rowers on last tackle. It's predictable and kills attack. Api is a great source of attack particularly through the middle of the field, but we need halves either side who operate in attacking shape so we can score more points rather than just a crash over from a prop. Da Silva is a star. Club can't lose him.

Sam Fainu is an absolute gun. If I'm going to criticise galvin it's that he didn't set up fainu as good as he could have. I can see him being a top 3 player in the team within a few years similar to how dominant Kikau was when he was in penrith in 20/21.

I do worry about Galvin at half. I don't think Luai/Galvin is a great halves combination when I imagine it. Luai has thrived organising the team. Galvin is very dominant. One will have to take a back seat. I doubt the 1.2 million dollar man will play 2nd fiddle to a rookie. I can't really see Galvin being kept to one side of the field and staying happy. Unless they employ a Keary/Walker type halves combination it could work. Interested to see how Latu Fainu plays at 7 in the next few weeks. Sullivan's best position in this side is 14. He's got that Kodi Nikorima speed and impact off the bench which Kodi did for Broncos, Warriors and Souths mainly

Funny thing is since returning Bateman has been in the top 2 for metres ran and usually runs for more than any front rower.

Now look at the size of him and ask yourself what that suggests about some of the other pea hearts modelling our jersey.

Media talking about the “last ride” for Luia and Cleary together at Penrith … mentions Fisher Harris leaving …. But not Turuva … that’s a bit disrespectful…

Also …. No mention of To’o asking for a release to join Tigers ?
At first I thought the To'o release to Tigers was just your usual facebook rumour but it turns out from some of the Samoan people at my relative's workplace, that it is in fact true. Interesting

I think many under estimate the power of the right player.
It's a good point, often overlooked.

Look at Reynolds at the Broncos. Top-class squad but when he's out they struggle to win. Or Manly. No DCE and Brooks goes back to playing like he did with us.

One player (particularly when it's the halfback) can galvanise a team and make the difference between wins and losses. Of course, we want the best players around him but Luai could be that for us.
