Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Who cares ?? As if he is going to say anything that will undermine his reasons for leaving .. FFS he has played like a flog all season and I an embarrassed at his defence from the weekend. Piss him off to Aaron Payne , this week and give a guy a go that wants to play for us and lead the pack . I’m over the big sook
I was replying to an earlier statement about the club's intent when Richo said he wanted fighters. Clearly he does not consider Stef to be one given his comments made during this season.

I hope he has signed somewhere. Would be hilarious for other clubs to come back an say that on checking our cap we can only afford 400k

To me it says that, we kick people when they are going out the door. In Richo's short term, it's been Fulton and now Stefano. In Benji's term, we can add Lee and Pascoe as well.

Not sure what's wrong with just saying thank you for your time, we wish you well in the future. Stefano didn't play well last couple of months, completely understand that but to be given this type of farewell by the fans and now the CEO- I don't feel he deserves that.

Seems like I'm in a massive minority here with this so I'll just leave it at that.

I can't see this club going anywhere.
Phukk Stefano.

Stef doesn't talk.
He hasn't said nothing.

He's sat, quietly in the corner the entire time.
Takes the field and gets folded.

Don't forget a few weeks ago.
3 or 4 runs, was it? 19 metres.

We need players with a certain character
Players who are ready for the fight
As Richo said

Stef is a 24 year old James Tamou
But less effective

A 24yo James Tamou like player would be fantastic to have at WT.

I find that comment quite stupid if true
So what is wrong with it?

Personally, I harbor no ill will towards Stefany on his departure and hope that he has the same experiences and successes our other former leader, Sharon, had when leaving Wests Tigers.

May you experience many contracts at numerous clubs, each of them over a short period of time as your NRL career winds down, however it is unfortunate and highly unlikely that there may possibly be some sort of future in the media after your NRL career has ended.

Other than that there is some similarity to Sharon's time here and it is not that he achieved Captain status or that he played numerous State of Origin games for the Blues, Anzac Test, World Cup, 4 Nations and Prime Minister's XIII games for Australia, shame you never achieved that level but aside from that, the stench around you leaving is not unlike that of when Sharon departed.

Wish you well and break a leg, but don't be afraid to do a hamstring, tear a pec and may you have many other season ending injuries in your pursuit of success.

C'ya.

Onward and upward and never a dull moment.

So the obvious decision ?
Stephano's made the easy one - He defineatly doesn't want to play for the Tigers !
Just to decide where he goes . Dont care much .
If its the Storm with the attraction of playing under Bellamy and Finals then I'd be surprised if he gets a 5 year deal or even same money as they don't need to and hope he gets 3 years at 700 k pa
If its the dogs then someone list all the players they have recruited from other clubs and add Steph and still get under cap ? Maths doesn't fit !
If its the Rorters then the cap doesn't apply here.
Now I will read all the good riddance comments but the real worry is WHY ?
WHY just about everybody wants out !
Got to love Api whos seems to embrace the challenge of turning the bottom club around
Wish there were more like him

Make the bastard plays 1st grade. Sitting the bloke in reserves wouldn't bother him, he's made his deal.
I like your thinking. And then bombard the opposite team props all week before the game about how much money Stef will be earning as an "elite" prop. In the old days that would be all the incentive an opposing prop would need to "snot" him.

Wants to win more then wanting to help out his mates

His lack of will/want to win in most of his efforts this season is why many, and probably most on here are not fussed about him leaving.

I would much prefer that Papali'i was staying as a middle, but that is no longer an option either, so we move on.

Penrith prop heading home to NZ? I always thought he is Panthers' bound if he leaves the club.

The Stef conversation is such a non event.

Facts: he doesn’t respond to Benji and Co’s coaching. He isn’t a 500k Prop in our team despite running off one of the best hookers in the game. Its not a half back problem so Luai coming doesn't change anything for the Prop role. And... even when our back three were making meters Stef still wasn't a 800K Prop.

Even if he kills it in the future, I will never look back and say I wish we kept him. With our circumstances, our reality it didn't work and it is never going to work.

Once again - at the Tigers Stef doesn't work.

Somewhere else - we will see. BUT so what - that doesn't change anything for this decision.
