Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

That’s true.

Some people are up for it, others not.

I’ve got a few players I’d be interested in pursuing given our new found fortune.

I’d be quite interested in Gutho as a fb or utility because of his capabilities and ultra competitiveness.

I’d feel better with him at the back than Bula because Bula isn’t a commander and we could use his speed on the wing.

But obviously we need a marquee forward or two, preferably younger but and willing.
We need to seriously look at raiding the Sharks pack they have more forwards than they know what to do with.

Not against getting To'o but he and a bunch of backs won't work without some better piggy littles.
Bulldogs are doing just fine without a great prop combination. You have to strengthen depth in positions to build success. Because injuries are inevitable. We have too much depth in the halves, so that is over the top and should have been used elsewhere

I reckon via JL it’s been communicated Wests Tigers are willing to pay To’o the money he wants and based on that information both he and his manager Liam Ayoub are trying to agitate a release from the Panthers.
As quite a few posts on here have alluded to, the Panthers are not stupid and won’t just simply release To’o because he feels under paid and wants more money.
It’s near certain they will send the message that the only way they release To’o would be the obtain someone of value to them in return.
There is only 4 players on our roster they would want and that is Lachie Galvin, Sam Fainu, Latu Fainu or Fonua Pole.
Obviously we cannot afford to trade any of those players.

It is likely his cost.
Is he a million dollar outside back?
It will cost us 900k possibly up to 1 million per season for either of Brian To’o or Valentine Holmes.
Yes that is a lot of money for an outside back, possibly a little bit more than they are worth, but I believe we desperately need either one of them as their profile and style of play would bring us much needed confidence.

Nope. Trading one of the best young halves in a position that's incredibly hard to find talent in for a winger? That's nuts.
Especially that Winger.
He’s a modern version of Matt Utai, and his run is close to an end I feel…
He’s missing too many things from his game to stay at the top for any longer - if he’s on 600+ there’s the reason they need him gone…
ludicrous money for such a limited Winger.

It does amuse me when Tigers supporters rail against the bias, agendas and disinformation of News Ltd NRL journalists but take their political news as gospel.

We are a complicated bunch. It’s like bagging players for leaving saying they are the lowest forms etc but then begging for players at other clubs to break contracts to join us.

No way that's happening. Richo mentioned having elite players on the Podcast yesterday. He spoke of Api,Luai and Galvin as being essential to us improving, he's not going to sacrifice Galvin for Too.
Yea I wasn’t saying I’d want it to happen, I was just saying if Galvin isn’t going to sign a extension then it should happen

That's a huge "just". What if Fainu doesn't get his hammy right? Absolutely no way I'd be giving up Galvin to get To'o because of Fainu. That's like giving up Moses to get Daniel Tupou because you've got a half busted Luke Brooks in your squad.
I wouldn’t just be giving up Galvin either if he wants to stay. I said if he was refusing a extension a trade is better then just letting him walk for nothing
