Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yep good squad player. Would bring energy & effort to the lock position off the bench and perfect to cover for Api also (so TDS can continue to build full match reps in NSW Cup). Also noting we only have 2 hookers so far in the top 30 next season (very risky).
little whisper doing the rounds that Jared Haywood has signed a development deal, but yes, we need three NRL-experienced hookers in the 30. also means Latu can focus on playing in the halves, which is where he should be.

Does anyone else agree that Twal offers more than Klemmer considering their price tag?
I think they are similar players.

People will hate this, but I think Klemmer isn't that bad. The perception is he is slow etc. But he's also a good middle defender, does his hit ups, even when his prop partner goes missing, sticks up for his team mates & doesn't get outmuscled.

He's not the guy he used to be. But he has value, and I think he puts in way more than given credit for.

But you’ll pay Val Holmes $900k …

cmon man !
We already have enough toilers,we need to add quality.
As I’ve said I much prefer To’o and I’m confident we will land him, so Holmes would be my back up plan as there is no other outside backs potentially on the market who have this type of profile and ability.

Blaze Talagi is leaving the Eels w/ Penrith being the likely destination.

If To’o is unsettled maybe this is what it’s about?
Not sure why he would go to Penrith , he is no hope of playing fullback , and parramatta told him he could be there fullback, only other spot for him is 5/8

Blaize to Penrith doesn't make sense to me... he's not going for the fullback position as Edwards is there.

The Mclean brothers will both have starting spots next year - they're legit freaks.

Tago just re-signed on a massive deal.

Alamoti has been playing great football.

But where does that leave To'o or Talagi?

Talagi notifying Parra he's leaving and potentially taking up the Penrith deal on the same day To'o is meeting up with the club pushing for a release could work in our favour.

I understand people saying why would Penrith release him (which I understand) however this isn't your average situation. To'o is a club junior spanning over a decade within the system who has put his body on the line for the badge like no other player in that team, he re-signed with the club due to the vision they were all staying together on low $, he has won 3 premierships in a row going for 4. He has more than paid his dues for that football club and has earned the respect and right to be able ask the club for a release on the basis of getting money he has never seen before or could be offered if he was to stay and to be able to take that opportunity to help provide for his new upcoming family. We're talking upwards of an 800k upgrade overall within his current deal.

I hate when players who have done nothing or brought no success to a club start demanding a release like they've earned the right to do that. I feel like there should be an element of respect in sport where if a particular player has done so much for a football club and are able to make way more money if they left for the benefit of there family that it should be something seriously considered - especially if that same club can't offer the same $.

I think there's two ways this can go - either To'o stays at Penrith on an upgraded deal or they let him go to take it up somewhere else. If neither of those 2 outcomes happen for To'o it gives you a massive indication on how Penrith treat their legends because he certainley deserves way more than he's on.
5/8 is wide open

Yes. And it isn't even close.
Are we talking ALEX TWAL that multiple try scoring forward that plays for the Wests Tigers? He is about to become a THREEPEAT Wooden Spoon NRL Premiership player and as nicer fellow that he comes across in the media he would NOT get picked to play 1st grade with any other club. He is at best a "Park Footy player" and should seriously be part of the big clean-up along with his team mate DK.

he’s played in every game the Warriors have played in those 12 weeks. he was once a penalty and error machine, yes, but has really cleaned it up in recent years. to me he’s a good fit for the bench.

there’s not really anything to get excited about on the market. he’s an attainable, proven first grader, who is willing to fight for every inch. we don’t have the ability to pass up on those players right now.
I agree he does have that mongrel we often lack, but I think to add him we would need to offload Matamua as there would be no need for both of them.
Both best suited at 13 with a bit of ball playing in their game.
Tevaga was initially a 9 and could still do a job there at times as well if required.

What's that got to do with Klemmer
