Well that’s a worry because he was very erratic, panicky and scatter gun with his ball playing tonight. I thought he tried too hard to be the hero.
Don’t get me wrong, he did some wonderful things, but he made some poor decisions…running himself into touch, the forward pass in a try scoring opportunity, some of his kicks…very desperate to impress rather than calmly icing the game.
Latu on the other hand…that guy is superbly talented and with some fine tuning could be great. His try assist for Seyfarth is the best I’ve seen from any half in this club since the days Benji was running wild.
Agree. It’s clear Galvin thinks he has to do it all.
It’s hard not to agree with him if you look at our side. I do think considering the year we have had it is testament to his hunger to win & he is enjoying his footy playing for us. We need that hunger to continue and become infectious with the other players.
Galvin biggest weakness is that he wants to touch the ball all the time and right now views himself as the only one that can make things happen by going to the edge all the time. He doesn’t straighten often or work the forwards over.
His strength is his communication and confidence - he does have the ability to deliver, he needs to pick his moments better. We see a big difference in players on the outside moving with him, knowing the play v when Sezar or others run the ball.
It’s easy to focus on his negatives but geez it’s hard not to enjoy watching him play & not think something is on. Most players don’t have that ability ever, Galvin has it.
Luai will be good for him I feel.
There is enough good things seen in Galvin this year that with experience, coaching and improved structure he could be a star.
Re Latu. We haven’t seen anything yet.
This kid is the real deal. I have talked about him for a while - but will let him show people his talent over the next few years.
We just need to remember these are kids being thrown into the deep end well before they normally would into a terrible losing culture & an experienced squad before then that just hasn’t delivered with a rookie coaching structure, but depsite that still show us pockets of positivity and talent, something we really haven’t seen for a while. They will make mistakes, they will be inconsistent but they will also give us hope & right now are very hungry to cement a nrl spot.
