Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If it’s his agent who is trying to stir up shit Richo can go to the NRL with proof and fix the issue , 1 phone call will fix it ( HI. Agent it’s Richo , keep stirring shit and Galvin plays reserve for reserves next 2 years ,
cheers

What do you mean trying ?

He has been stirring shit all year …

I honestly can't see how the club hasn't got Jimmy signed up for a couple years - Train and Trial at least....
Kid was making waves in the media as a part timer, Get him training full time and re-habbed properly and get him around the top squad....

The calibre of most of the development players we've signed up and have no room for this fella is stupidity....
I'd be buying him before the likes of Tumeth, Matamua, Cini, Hoffman and upteen other wasted development deals.
His defense on the weekend was woeful. Lacked effort and efficiency. I am honestly baffled about how much this forum loves a 23 year old injury riddled winger who can't defend and regularly played Sydney Shield and Ron massey and now apparently he deserves a shot at NRL.

Please watch him play before forming a bias and silly opinion on the bloke.

What’s not to get ? He’s basically saying not wollow in your lowest points , as your lowest points and your highest highs are that rare in the grand scheme of things that don’t emphasise on them .
That’s the gist of what I took out of that attitude . That’s why he referenced “I’ve won as many spoons as I have premierships” .
I don’t think he’s dismissing the spoons , and the lessons that Need to be learnt and rectified , but rather they’re not something to hyper fixate on .
Yes, well as long as that applies to winning the comp as well, I agree.
A CEO could easily rest on his laurels after winning a premiership and subsequently attract poor results. Its happened here before.
I look at trends rather than the final outcome. The spoons are an embarrassment, however if we take a snapshot of the past 2 years which is the rebuild we are currently on, our attack has improved but our defence has gotten worse. That is discouraging as we have added a decent amount of talent to this squad since 2022 for very little gain. Our recruitment of player and coaching talent needs to improve.

I agree. What the hell has this bloke done to be spoken about so reverently?

Memory lapse here but is it the NRL that clubs puts a media release out to thank players who are leaving?

I'm sure it is but not sure if it's before the last game or before awards night

He's had 4-5 god games throughout his career. He super erratic, he's lazy, slow, dumb. We should offload him in a heartbeat if we can. He's had his chance and proven that he's injury prone, error prone and unable to perform to a high standard in first grade. He wouldn't be top 17 at any club, he would be a train and trial at most clubs, or a no 30 contract, minimum wage experienced backup. For 2 more years at 350k it's awful value for us and we need to be ruthless and eliminate him.
My thoughts exactly, a waste of a roster spot

I dont get what his point is here.
Coming last is an indication of how the entire club has fared during the year. If we revell in the praise of securing the title as he has done on 2 occasions, then we have to cop some shit for securing the spoon which he has also done twice.
Both matter.
True Tucker, though I think in the context he was using he was more suggesting though he understood player and fan agitation at winning another wooden spoon, it's not so much of an issue for him atm as he sees improvements inside the club and can see where we are heading, kind of like a nessisary evil. I'd hazard a guess and say if we do the same next year though he will be speaking a very diffrent tune. I could have misunderstood though.

If a deal could be done it would be perfect to allow our emerging players to grow.
Players such as Matamua, Tumeth, Kit, Sukkar, Faagatu, Saukuru and Feledy could all potentially become much better players if playing Qld Cup for Easts Tigers.
we quite literally have a reserve grade and under 21s team.

My point is filtering our Wests Magpies NSW Cup team with too many of these younger players is undoubtedly hurting our results.
Quite a few rival NRL clubs, in particular Melbourne Storm, the Roosters and the Qld based clubs all have 2 senior teams to split their fringe players between, therefore if we followed their lead and used Easts Tigers as our 2nd feeder club, we could in effect strengthen our Wests Magpies team by not having to play all our young and not quite ready players with them.
Having two feeder clubs who are both winning their fair share of games at senior level would be much better for our younger players development.
As an example there is little doubt players such as Faagatu and Tumeth would have been good enough to regularly make the Easts Tigers team this season, rather than play in the age restricted Jersey Flegg.
