Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If there is no way we can get Brian To’o, another potential target could be Tolutau Koula as he is currently being left out of Manly’s starting line up in favour of Tommy Talau.
He has a long term contract with Manly, but he certainly will not be happy if he continues to be left out of the starting line up, Manly will need to upgrade Lehi Hopoate and it’s no benefit to them to have a well paid outside back not in their starting line up.
Looks decent, I think they plan to use him to replace Trbojevic at the back, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in our colours.

Laulili’i and Turuva are the first 2…
To’o would be the 3rd!

Storm wouldn’t take To’o…
Neither would the Roosters…
IF Panthers looking to let him go…

That’s 3 of the top 4
So, probably not any team….
Roosters 100% would take him, and I think Storm would to, he is universally regarded as the best winger in the game, but you know better than everyone else

Royce Hunt tonight had some strong runs and fast play the balls - commentators mentioned that. Some effective defence covering on the inside and once strongly on the blind side. One blemish was he stayed in the line which resulted in a disallowed try. Minutes and engine are clearly an issue though, but with the right balance in the lack there is no reason we couldn't use him for impact.
I was impressed with his defence, he made a great cover tackle out on the right, and 2 tackles later he shut down the middle

It's my guess is that batboy is saying those top clubs wouldn't take To'o for a large price tag. I think that's what he is saying, maybe he can clarify. Personally I agree that for any price over 650k they wouldn't take him. However under 600k they absolutely would.

He's apparently on $650k already so I don't see him leaving for a price those two clubs would be happy to pay.

We wouldn’t have cap space to pay To’o the rumoured 900k per season unless we offload Olam.
But considering we are supposedly paying Olam around 600k per season, we are offliading Naden on 300k per season and potentially offloading To’a on around 350k per season, it would well and truly create the cap space if we offload those 3.
That scenario would allow Turuva to play as one centre as it was promised to him when we signed him and would mean we still require another taller, more athletic and fast centre partner, with Staines and Skelton battling it out for the right wing position.
No ones going to take Olam. If somehow To’o wasn’t a pipe dream, Staines becomes surplus.

He was better than last week, but again he was gassed after his 20 minutes and had to be taken off.

The blind side tackle, he was on an edge having a rest and they targeted him. To his credit he made the tackle well.

Assume you have given up on Ravalawa now after yesterday ? 5 weeks ago you were pretty red hot for him..

It was actually the right side, probably saved a long range try, and then when they were opened up in the middle 2 tackles later, he shut that down too.
I was quite surprised, but he didn’t play a lot of minutes
Yeah jury is out for me, but I saw the same and was impressed. I guess my question is can our coaching staff get longer effective minutes because he will be a crucial part of our team, not a bit part.

if that news was from any1 else but u Hal ,id b calling bs
Thanks for your support M but tbh I’m getting a little nervous coz I thought it may have been officially announced by now. Hope my source is right on the mark, it sounded like a done deal when I spoke to him. Maybe just waiting for season end.
🤞🤞🤞

yeah ..I don’t get it… looks slow and old …he lacks strength …might struggle in the forwards these days and they don’t need him in the backs
Agree Tom, wouldn’t have been on my list but different people see different things. I just hope we are not paying a ridiculous figure coz old, slow and expensive is a formula we’ve used before, without success !!!!!
Greetings Moses E ,Josh R, James T, Jimmy t Jet and many others.

Then why is Penrith looking to move him (if they are)
If he’s seen in the light you’re painting -
No one should be appreciating him more than them - but the talk is there?

FTR, he hasn’t been judged in the top 2 wingers of the year in the last 2 years, despite his team coming first.
And I don’t think he’ll have it coming this year…
Brooks won Dally M halfback of the year too, and he wasn’t in the top 5 halfbacks in the NRL that year

Maybe they see Bird has some value in his leadership skills and off the field work ethic to be an example for the younger guys …I can’t say if that is a strength of his or not, but just trying to find a reason why they are interested in him …if they sign him, it better be 2 years maximum
