It's funny how so many players can be awesome elsewhere but when they come to the Tigers the time they spend here is forgettable.

Footy fans aren't keeping up with inflation. 400k (and keep in mind some of it covered by the Dragons) is about what you'd pay for the 10th-15th best player in your squad.
Given Bird is an established first grader, the money is pretty much spot on.
I question the fit more than the deal and player.

Squad is looking better as it stands. Need big leaps from Bula, Galvin, Sam Fainu, Pole. Most importantly Benji has to get better.
The pack needs strengthening Hunt is a powerhouse but we need to add a few workers that hit Kobe Hetherington, Jack Williams would be ideal.
Be interesting who leaves that we don’t know about. Naden, Sullivan, Toa, Lobb, Staines, Tumeth, Feledy, Matamua would be candidates.

Also in 4 years Bird had played 73 games, Douehi - 44, Olam-79, Toa-55 and comparing to some others in the Comp

So when you compare Bird to other centres across the comp he has played similar number of games to the other top players

Yeah as much as I’m not keen, at $400 for two years it’s borderline whether he’s a good signing. But if he can stay on the park and keep players like Doobie and Fartape in reggies then he might be a good stepping stone till we have or get someone better. Will bird play centre or lock for us though?
