Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

That's the one...Freddo's...I'll try one next time I'm there since you say they are top shelf.
Thanks' Kelce68.
Legendary around the area.

Used to grab one every time we played Smithtown or Kempsey as little fellas.

**can't speak to current quality though, this was a while ago..

Really...?
Bateman is a current England international
Paps pretty much the same in NZ..and the only forward with any semblance of fear factor we have
,,and Stefano was in Blues squad last season...based entirely on potential I know, but theyre indeed the facts..which we prefer to deal in from this end ...
No..we dont do "sales pitches" as you ascribe
And by contesting minutia,of whether they were or were not.or whatever... You miss the entire point
.. Weve lost 3 genuine NRL forwards or better, that need to be replaced
A bench player from Broncos doesnt quite do it,unless he brings a few buddies with him
Atm backs improving but ,forward pack is going backwards
But ...off season to come
As it stands, Bateman is coming back.

Stefano replaced by Hunt (Samoan International)

Just need to replace Ice.

Not how I look at things, but just using your logic to show we are missing 1 forward, not 3.

I can't imagine a more unlikely marriage than 'Blacktown' Workers and the Manly Silvertails.
Nothing wrong with Blacktown though as I used to live there and had many buffet lunches at their Sports Club.
It’s pretty crazy. Blacktown clubs have gone backwards in recent years. Workers should be a powerhouse but have struggled. City is almost non existent

I have worked in a maximum security gaol, that’s not entirely true

Inmates are friends with screws, one is serving time
the other guy just wants to get home to his family lol.
Different when you're serving 5 as opposed to 25
though I suppose. Screws help get paraphernalia in 2

I said 3 coaches - You can count right?
Before this 'plan' took off
1 - Benji
2 - Farah
3 - Heighno
had zero games coaching experience at senior level. (Any level really)

Compared to that, Make Hodgo look like Wayne Bennett
How many years of NRL experience does Billy Slater have?

Looks like we are trying to get a fair dinkum Wests Tigers atmosphere and attitude into our club by employing genuine legends.
If Brett Hodson was good enough for Eddie Jones to use someone outside Rugby as an assistant, that seems pretty good to me.
Don't know anything about what goes on in Rugby Union but are we talking about the Eddie Jones that oversaw the disaster that was/is Australian Rugby Union?

Pretty sure he did toyota cup with Melbourne. I remember a story at the time that he "asked" Bellamy to meet him in the carpark
Yes that was just before he came to us, culminating in his disastrous trip to New York which ended in him being shown the door.

Think he was a little bitter about all that and I have a feeling that he probably would not see us as a desirable destination.

I guess Lodge has been to nearly every club now and needs to go back to the beginning. He's skipped Melbourne Storm (or they skipped him)!
Pretty sure he came to the tigers from the storm as an u/19s NSW rep. Got the boot from there after writing offensive stuff on his wrist tape in the jnr SOO.

* hadn't seen the others saying the same sorry...

Don’t forget PNG is team 19. Let’s not forget about team 18. Western Bears. Possibility?
Ugh. Anyone else think "Western Bears" is possibly the worst name in sports ever?
I mean, sorry to go there, but there are connotations I can think of... Like cowboys, chaps, the village people... "bears"...

Sounds like a group marching in the Mardi Gras: "And next along [INSERT WHATEVER "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN" IS THESE DAYS] are our very own Western Bears...".

He was held in high regard at Penrith. He was by far the best forward in his age group (plenty of good forwards in that age group). I watched him in an u17s major semi and he tore the opposition pack to pieces. He got sent off late in the game. As he left the field he was heckled by the dads of the opposing team so offered a few of them outside. Nobody took him up on his offer. Had his Panthers contract torn up for off field dramas soon after. Always had great ability

Hey guys so during my time in Prison I became friends with a lot of CO's & still have some close contacts. Anyways, I reached out to a few of them who have been watching over Payne Haas's mum & she's told them that he'll be signing for us next season on a 5 year deal !!! Apparently when Benji was at Brisbane he took Haas under his wing & was a good mentor for him. How good is that 🔥🔥🔥
Did they have to beat that confession out of her?

Was in Turkey only a few weeks ago. I bought a chicken. Organic. The chicken spoke to me, it's like we could understand each other, the chicken said that it heard from the pig that we are gonna buy another player before the season starts. I saved the chicken. Let it go. There was a bond there plus I believed it.
The higher the high, the bigger the crash X. I hope you have your crash pad ready.

Yeh no doubt he found it tough when he was young. His dad was pretty high up in the police wasn't he? Is that even a reason?

As for him returning to the tigers for a season or two I personally wouldn't have an issue. So many who make bad choices etc., never change and are lost to the game. Ben Barber, the first Daine Laurie was a huge shame he disappeared.

Whether or not he's actually paid what he was supposed to to those poor people in NYC, I don't know. None of my business really. But I do give him credit for... Well, for not now being where he very much looked like he could have ended up.

I think he's a bloody hard, very good player. Hopefully he has really turned his life around.

Hard for Joe Public to really know, so would he be good for the club? As a player definitely. As a team member, influence, attitude... Who knows?

I purchased a pineapple Fanta from the Kempsey Service Centre yesterday, and I noticed the place that sold all the pies sold 'crocodile pies'...but I forgot to ask if they sold 'Crocodile Rolls' haha.
If they do maybe they can be our major sponsor haha.
That’d be Freddo Pies, they do a Croc Pie and it is average at best. I have had Croc a few times over the years, I’ve even cook it at home on the BBQ a couple of times, but their version is yellow purée, baby food wrapped in pastry.

Our losses are tier 1 internationals or SOO players..not discounting Samoa, but not same same
If Bateman does come back ..it will only be for the $$$.Will be even less effective than past season
Hunt is a 40 min player...but last season thats about 35 mins more than Stefano..who was MIA
Ice is a big loss.
My point is that we need a bit more than a reserve for the Broncos...2 solid NRL proven forwards ,at least one of which is rep level
Am tempted by Lodge,,,who has the ability, but mite be toxic
Which wed kept Paseka tbh
