Quite frankly I would be pretty happy with anything that doesn't have the Brydens logo on it.To me, the simpler design, the better.
Too many angles, sharp points, stuff like stripes, claws, etc, make it all too messy and not aesthetic in any way, shape or form. That includes the mid and late 2000's strips that were WAY too busy.
Personally, something like this is more my taste. View attachment 16414View attachment 16415

Fair enough.I think we can do better with these designs. The above jerseys are a good place to start, I do feel like they are a bit boring and simple. The V needs to be sharper on the chest.
Let’s bring back the original jerseys we wore in the year 2000. They look good and still popular amongst fans. A modern version with collars. I know we brought them back for a game last season, but I think we can keep them. Hopefully better quality than the steedan ones
It had a barb or similar on the bottom of the V that's about it... Hardly busy imoFair enough.
I think the exact opposite.
The early designs with sharp bits and pieces and shit going everywhere was way too busy and an assault on the eyes.
The original design wasn't as busy, but it was cheesy as.It had a barb or similar on the bottom of the V that's about it... Hardly busy imo
05 was busy
:12 was busy... Imo
I really don't understand the push away from tradition. The original design wasn't as busy, but it was cheesy as.
It looked ok on a retro last year, but the lightning bolt motif was very dated.
It's akin to a pair of Hot Tuna boardies, with flames on them, that go down past someone's knees.
Hot shit at the time, very dated these days.
Ahhhh I remember when a footy top was what your team wore. Not trying to be the height of fashion. The original design wasn't as busy, but it was cheesy as.

I want heaps and heaps of Wins...heaps of themAhhhh I remember when a footy top was what your team wore. Not trying to be the height of fashion.
Taylor Swift seems to come out on stage with glitter. Maybe along those lines. She seems to know what the fans want
I agree.I really don't understand the push away from tradition.
Look at the English Premier League. Man City, Liverpool, United etc. Have never changed the main strip. They have alternative strips each year which satisfies the itch for something different, but the main jersey is always the same.
We should stop mucking around with it.
I might have to concede on my point of moving away from all semblance of the legacy club jerseys because those do look damn cool... 🤣I agree mate.
I don't think we've ever got it quite right. I can't recall a single jersey I've fallen in love with at first sight.
.... Though I still have 13 of them. Haha.
They do make changes very frequently - very subtle, but very often, and sponsors change over time. If anything, the EPL is the epitome of capitalising on kids having to have the latest strip.I really don't understand the push away from tradition.

Before every season it's a huge deal revealing that seasons strip, much like the F1 livery.
I understand wanting to keep tradition, but it's also great that people seeing things differently.
I think in 1999/2000 the club (not plural!) did itself a disservice by having partisan people from both founding clubs not wanting to really forge a new identity by clinging to the past.
In doing so, it has (ironically) made it extremely difficult for it to find its own identity as a unified, singular entity and start to build its own traditions, etc.
People with split personalities tend to have identity crises...
We think.
Given Richo’s current direction and motto for the club is ‘One Jungle’ I feel there may be a change. The intention of the current jersey’s whilst a nod to the past also are a little divisive by being modern replicas of both former clubs iconic jersey’s. I like the idea but it still seems disjointed. If both had retained the Wests white V on both the black and orange jerseys it may be a bit more uniformed. The intention of the design when it was brought in was for the design to be permanent. That may change now with the changes to the admin.
Would be perfect with a white V on both.To me, the simpler design, the better.

I agree except that I think it should be mostly orange. Not because of any Balmain affiliation but because we are the only team that wears orange. The alternate jersey could be mostly black.first and foremost, I’m hopeful we part ways with Steeden. their quality is well below standard and they’ve never been true to size. in addition their off field gear is atrocious.
I’d love to see us partner with Dynasty. what they’ve managed for Manly and NZ are second to none, and their heritage jerseys are some of the best I’ve seen. with the 20 year anniversary of 05 due next year, I really don’t want the club to mess it up.
as for what it looks like, it has to be predominantly black with a double V that is sympathetic to both Wests and Balmain. I appreciated the fact that the former admin wanted a jersey that we could have almost permanently, but it was never perfect, nor was it 'timeless'. I’m hoping Richardson and his team can find the sweet spot.
Pisses me off when the Noughts wear their tradie gear.I agree except that I think it should be mostly orange. Not because of any Balmain affiliation but because we are the only team that wears orange. The alternate jersey could be mostly black.
