Cricket Season Thread

I was amused to hear Pat Cummins interview after one of our worst losses ever where he explained why the test players can't play the 3rd ODI
I thought it might be to play some redball cricket and tune up
NO -First week its go home and have some family time ( Pat has now played 2 days of cricket in months ) ?
2nd week get to Perth a week early and practise !
That's it !
I think CA has an obligation to put the best possible team on the park for every game although the way we played in the 2nd ODI makes me think they won't be missed anyway !
 
For those who said good riddance Warner it seems no obvious candidate saying I'm the one !
Harris gets 74 in 1st innings and a golden duck in the 2nd
Bancroft gets 3 in 1st innings and a golden duck in the 2nd
Konstas gets 3 in 1st innings and is 26 not out in the 2nd batting with Ollie Davies needing another 104 to win 7 wickets left
In terms of white ball cricket our new openers are a total failure so far

Can not really remember Davey boy doing much last year either.
But on record i would like to say I remember saying you guys will regret Bill Ponsford and Bill Lawry as well as Bobby Simpson retiring as well.
Warner is finished. Let it go

Would love a Billy P at the top of the order for this summer. If it wasn’t for that hack Donald, Billy would be a god.

Simpson retired twice .....he came back during WSC
 
Based on Konstas 73 not out and Harris Golden duck
Its the 19 year old Konstas who gets my vote
However I'm sure they will stick with Harris as he's played 14 tests and produced mediocrity consistently Ave about 25 and highest score in 14 tests about 80

By picking Inglis I wonder if they are keeping the option of moving head or Labuschagne up the order? I wouldn't personally but they always talk about fitting the best 6 bats in the country in somehow.
 
JFM fails again out for 7 on 1st ball of 3rd over .This guy is all hype and no substance
Now we have Hardie at 3 whos yet do anything of note
Short 7 off 12 balls with about 4 play and misses
This is a very ordinary batting line up ,Hardie swings and misses at every ball
Hope Inglis and Stoinis and Maxxy and Connolly can get some runs
Last 3 overs 1 for 4 runs
