As for the HBG's right to veto WT Board appointments - they lost any right to have any say when they let Hagipantelis buy the Chairmanship without any consideration of the conflict of interest as major sponsor...

If they were a public company Board - just based on the false financial records/audits they signed off under Lee and Pascoe - they would all have been stood down and banned from future directorships years ago!!

You are framing everything in Balmain v Wests, thats the problem. There was no Balmain/Wests instability at board level prior, however there was massive incompetence, inexperience and lack of confidentiality prior and that was driving the Tigers into the ground.

We need independent directors because to be frank HBG have previously proven and continue to prove to this day that they are incapable of correcting this. At their own board level they continue to spat, are incompetent, have no experience in governance and continue to leak to the media. We need to keep them away from the club.

Richardsons mantra is to drive up memberships and sponsorships to reach a level of independent success that is not reliant on poker machine profits - re South Sydney. You don't do do that by dividing your fan base on the back of decisions that are emotive and aligned with the past. WTs has been running at a loss under the current administration.

Burgess is back on the WT's site listed on the board - Didn't he stand himself down not long ago?
Who stands themselves down, With the Clubs bests interests at heart
and then comes back a few months later?
