When Matamua was coming through the grades and making a name for himself, I wouldn’t say he was fast for a forward, but he was agile enough to be a running threat and this along with his ball playing ability is what made him a player with so much potential.
I recall he was told he was small for a forward and had to put on size, I think that’s been his detriment as putting on size has taken away his speed and agility and meant he has become no attacking threat when running the ball.
Therefore it’s great to hear he’s looking very fit as that’s the best chance of him regaining his running threat and becoming the player he’s always promised to be.
