Why is everyone so positive about luais clauses on here

If he leaves he loses face, he admits that he's a failure and that he couldn't achieve what he set out to achieve. It also implies that he thought it would be easy to turn a club from wooden spooner to contender which makes him look naive. He came here because he wanted to challenge himself to show that he can turn a club around and be the main man that leads them to glory.
If he wanted to take the easy route he could have gone to dogs or any other number of clubs. He took the challenge (and the money).

Anyone who listened to May's podcast - why is he running a marathon? Must be for a cause? Not sure it's ideal for a 100kg footballer to run 42km on the road in December, but from what I've read on here, he seems determined and has a belief in himself to be able to do it, be leader of the group when he arrives, and achieve big things for the rest of his footy career.

Or perhaps he's trying to counter the "footy isn't important in my life" quote earlier in the year to take some heat off?

Yeah when I heard this on the pod, I thought gee that is not ideal for off-season training given the injury risk (muscular & stress fractures) especially for a 110kg bloke who usually does 10-20km runs. I have run one years ago after 6 months of building up to 35km runs in training and it is arduous on the body. Anyway good on him for taking on the challenge!

Yeah I thought that too then I thought how I’d rather someone like that then the attitude of rocking up to training unfit and going through the motions.

He takes pride in his fitness and it shows with the minutes he plays.

No one is saying he’s going to fail. He’s awesome. I just roll my eyes at the talking. That’s just me.

I hope the club is monitoring this. Its a big strain on a body that has played a lot of top level footy in the past 2 season after having an easy schedule up until 2023.



Id prefer him to have a good rest before next year to be honest.
I dont think the Roosters used him properly in 2024...the weeks he played 70-80 minutes, he was smashing it. He could easily be asked to pump out 65mins+ every week in 2025.

I think the maximum preferred amount of time off training is 2 weeks for elite athletes . Then there’s a clear drop off. To be fair though this data is taken from premier league players , who don’t have to go through multiple car crash equivalent tackles every week .
I think he will get that over the Xmas break .

Playing a game of rugby league each week is quite arduous on the body.

It's the mark of a man that can push through that and still perform.

Time heals all wounds, he'll get over it. Especially if we start winning games.

Yes but you are missing my point...we need to manage him properly this off season.
He is very keen to rip in - partly driven by revenge.
He is a chance of over doing it with the marathon stuff after a huge 2024 where he played 29 games.
Benji's man management needs to be on point.
