Cricket Season Thread

Well done Cricket Australia buggerising about with the test fixture scheduling and moving the Gabba test from November to mid-December!

This'll be the first drawn test seen here in 12 years.

What amuses me the CA attitude was get plenty of rest ,quality family time and manage workloads as we are are playing India in 5 tests over 47 days
Well from 22/11 to today 16/12 some 25 days weve had
Perth test 3.5 days ,Adelaide 2.5 days and Brisbane 1.5 days so far
That's playing 7.5 out of 25 days .OMG how will they cope !

At the end of this series there will be players going on how hectic the schedule is.

I think the Summer of cricket schedule is what it is to free up more space for the bloody BBL
First they squeeze all our INTERNATIONAL white ball cricket that is 6 matches into a 2 week Window in November before the first test
I love watching Australia play other countries in any format ( although 20/20 is my least preferred) BUT have Zero interest in supporting a franchise made up with players from any country or state
Maybe the Boxing day test will be replaced with a BBL double header in the future
Remember the days of World Series Cricket 3 countries 14 games plus 5 tests with no problem fitting it in .

Weve got a problem
Hazelwood gets picked over Boland as he said his side strain no problem
Well he bowls 1 over and he looks terrible
This selection could cost us the test !

big error if true. To win this test we will need the bowlers to bowl back to back innings.

Hazelwwood they now say its a calf issue
Of course they could not admit its a side strain
Lyon bowling but looks tame
If we are forced to overbowl Cummins and Starc that could have serious ramifications for the series
The selectors should be red faced

How long has it been since Lyon took a bagful ?
So much depends on him but he looks a bit innocuous
Between Smith dropping Rahul with a sitter and Hazelwood declaring himself fit .
I would love to see George Bailey and Co confronting the media
Starc has now bowled 15 of 40 overs so far

Smith drops Rahul with a sitter when he's on 33 but catches a blinder when he's 84 .Rahul back cuts Lyon off the face off the bat. Smith anticipates a takes a great catch .Only cost 51 runs

AB made a comment that Brisbane was always the first test in mid November where the weather is better .In December rain showers more common
So CA do you consider everything before moving the Gabba test in favour of Optus Stadium ?
As it seems now the rain might be a blessing so as not to have Starc and Cummins break down before boxing day .

I heard discussions during the break as to what fast bowlers are waiting in the wings ? Well not much as nearly all of them bowling T20 with just 4 overs
So opinion is Bartlett, Johnson , Jhye Richardson ,Jason Berendorff and so many bowlers can't play tests with being asked to bowl 20 overs a day
These guys don't care as they make more money playing franchise 20 over cricket
In fact Jackson Bird a real veteran was suggested or maybe Fergus O'Neil
T20 franchise cricket is a blight on the game .
JFM who bats hits 4,6 ,4 6 and out is a superstar

India 9-215
Starc has 3 Cummins has 4
How can you win a test with just 2 bowlers !
Hazelwood out for series !
Lyon bowling innocuous
Marsh only bowled 2 overs because not fit enough but his fielding superb

Cummins bowls too short to tailenders. Look at how India bowled to Lyon - at the stumps three in a row and bowled on the third. Kayo reckon Pat bowled 2 out of 58 that would have hit the stumps.

To be honest I doubt we’d bowl them out tomorrow.

I would not pick Lyon for Melbourne he lost his zip
I would try a new opener McSweeney cant play Bumrah
Play Inglis or Konstas both are better batsmen
Follow on avoided !
Doesn't matter with 2 worn out bowlers anyway
Selectors don't pick anyone who's not 100% fit
