Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It will take us to 28 spots, not 27. Terrell May's contract still needs to be registered and he will take Batemans open spot, Sione will be upgraded and he will taken Sullivans open spot. That will leave Millers spot open once his situation is sorted out and ratified by the NRL. Johannssen signed a 2 year cup deal last month, he will not be upgraded.

I anticipate the last spot will be used to bring in a second rower or kept vacant in case someone of value becomes available in the next few months.
27 check it out.

Curious on people’s thoughts on Reuben Garrick if he gets an early release to squeeze in some of manlys youngsters off contract. Can goal kick and is on ~ 450k
No. I've watched him. His goal kicking is unreliable and he makes defensive mistakes often.

Boom, both gone by the end of the week…

Bud won’t be back in 26 and I doubt he’ll come back in 2027, if we extend Galvin……these options are security for the WT in case Galvin leaves after 2026… smart negotiating by Richo…we now have a spare spot for 2025… will be interesting how the club fills it… Taylan May anybody
Smart but how much are we paying?

He's not on 700k. 550k I believe. Are we paying 250k a year?

I hope it’s a forward, not another back.

This is some pretty incredible roster management by Richo. Very similar to Gus' cull last season. I think we are better positioned than the dogs last year. Over to you Benji
It’s an interesting comparison for sure. Canterbury had stars in different roles and no doubt bought into the coaches defensive know-how.

Both forward packs limited.

Can ours lay a good enough platform for our spine to realise its potential. And can we gel enough to hold teams under 30 consistently?

With guys like May and Hunt coming from good systems I think that will rub off on the rest of the pack. I've been listening to poddies from May and Hunt and I am liking what I hear from them.

We've pissed off Bateman and now we have genuine forward leaders at this club.

Hopefully they form strong bonds quickly and have the desire to play for one another. Probably the biggest challenge with rebuilding.

Hey brother. Is there some news on Garrick where he may get released? I wasn't able to find anything.
There was just some speculative article posted by a journo saying manly will have to choose to let go of an outside back because of the emergence of Lehi Hopoate. Wouldn’t be too surprising if Garrick was let go as he is probably the highest paid & last year said he refuses to play on the wing even tho it’s his best position lol. Personally if he thinks he’s a centre I can’t see any club in the NRL picking him up, on the wing is a different story

Yeah. Had we let a few more outside backs go, he'd be handy. Particularly for his goal kicking, but we need a backrower now.

One spot left, so I'm sure there's a plan to bring someone in.
