Remove Bateman and bud, we have 18 in 2026. Then there’s 2 options (Klemmer and Sukkar). IMO, we need to prioritise retention and recruiting now, not cull and waste more cap for those at other clubs. Who knows some could be late bloomers or kick back into form. This isn’t too say not to still get rid of some bad eggs, but think priorities need to shift a bit now

Boom, both gone by the end of the week…

Bud won’t be back in 26 and I doubt he’ll come back in 2027, if we extend Galvin……these options are security for the WT in case Galvin leaves after 2026… smart negotiating by Richo…we now have a spare spot for 2025… will be interesting how the club fills it… Taylan May anybody
Looks like Souths only agreed to a 1 year deal with final negotations today, Bud to return in '26.

Daily Tele: After crunch talks between the two parties on Thursday the Tigers and South Sydney have agreed to a one-year deal with Sullivan returning to the Tigers in 2026 to see out the final year of his contract.

There had been talk of a two year contract at South Sydney with the prospect of Sullivan getting out after year one but that was unable to be finalised.

so is the play we keep one spot open for Taylor May?

Would also love another great back rower and one more big prop. I would take Bullemor and Lodge.

Payout Tumeth and Twal.
Why do people think that if May is found not guilty he'll walk immediately into a top 30 spot? Having not played for over a year and not had any preseason or training it will take him time to be ready for first grade.

A train and trial at first is fine and then if needed can offload someone early to free a space if needed

He’s been playing in superleague this whole time

a loan deal effectively, eh?

let’s hope he makes an impression. we can’t afford a $600k backup half on our books.

You might regret letting LL go. He's quality
Imagine thinking a kid who debuted litterally a week after the was eligible , and killed it , is one to let go . Some people have no idea . That kid will be special .
His brother will as well , he will just take a lot longer because he’s a middle . We won’t reap the rewards until he’s 23 . So it’s a case of perseverance.
Feledy we should retain on a NSW cup contract for as long as we can , he might come good later as well . Tumeth , and Saukuru are the 2 id be looking to move on .
Even Naden might have a second wind this year in a team that should be far more competitive

Starting guys like Naden, To’a and Staines in reserve grade could be a real positive. I guarantee they all think they’re First Graders and will probably pull their finger out if First Grade is winning some games.

The main thing that is stopping Naden being picked ever again is what is between his ears and at his age it is hard to see it becoming improved enough to be trusted again (in our squad constant brain snaps can not be acceptable)

Yep definitely . It’s a good , healthy environment for driving standards having a much deeper squad than we have had in a long time . Apathy will get you dropped . Which hasn’t really been the case for years .
