HBG boardroom can do whatever they want, not really my issue. Don't care if they decide to backstab eachother 100 times over in constant power grabs. Imo they're all as bad as each other.
It becomes all our issue though when they're constant garbage spills into the Wests Tigers boardroom and affects us.
If they want to constantly go to war with eachother have at it, just leave the Wests Tigers alone. Let us get on with moving on.

I have been a Balmain tiger fan since watching my 1st game , the 1969 grandfinal , always will be a tiger . BUT I have embraced the merger, but makes we angry is the board seem only want to say we the west Maggie’s run the show and the tigers have little or no say , AND yes I know they own more than the tigers , but the TIGER name has kept the two going all this time , if only the dickheads who run the show could embrace the merger like 95% of fans there would be no trouble

BP had a board focused on Balmain in the beginning until recently we have a board focused on Western Suburbs. We just need a boardroom focused on the Wests Tigers and only the Wests Tigers.
Time after 25 years to finally move on. If some fans can't let go then let them watch Wests and Balmain run around somewhere in the lower grades. Both sides of the merger need to finally let go of the past and unite so we can get behind a brighter future togeather.

I’ve got a solution, I’m not sure if anyone has suggested this but I’m at the stage where I would support the idea of the NRL buying and owning the Wests Tigers.
I'm fine with the HBG owning the club but they need to let it operate independently so they get true value out of their asset. They have shown they are incapable of running the club.

Either set it up to succeed or sell the club.

Entirely how I feel. Wests Tigers success is everything we’re striving for. It has categorically and emphatically nothing to do with burying or erasing history of foundation clubs. It is present and future focused.

That won’t solve anything for us and if anything would make alot of things harder for us.

HBG can own us and they have invested alot into the club, so they’re dedicated. Issue is the structure to which they have setup to run the club hasn’t worked (that is proven) and must change if we are to move as the Wests Tigers forward successfully.

I would suggest the NRL has invested/grants etc far more into wests tigers than HBG.

I’m not quite understanding this consist line you push about something being in place for a long time, so why change, it’s working. Do you think it’s possible that something could be working, in spite of obstacles in its way (ie: the debenture system) ?
Or maybe things could be 10, 20, 30 times better if the said obstacle was removed ?
Two main reasons.

Well the group is very successful, hard to argue about that.

Reality is where licensed clubs like Penrith, Balmain and Cronulla who apparently don't have a debenture system with boards consisting of supposed professionals got themselves into all manner of strife financially........and fell back on excuses re government regulations for their poor risk management the Wests group/HBG have thrived and grown.

Most of the debenture holders are wealthy individuals with sound business nous.

That's the financial reason.

Secondly, if you asked me 20 years ago I would've been less inclined to allow the system to continue.

However, the Wests group conceded much with the adoption of the HBG structure once Balmain Leagues was absorbed following their failure. Rather than as probably would have happened in reverse Wests group depersonalised their structure somewhat in order to be inclusive for all WT fans former Balmain fans. Let's face it in a few years maybe a Balmain Leagues will be built by HBG on the former Rozelle site.

So in some ways the debenture system which is really only a form of privileged membership which vet new members to make certain their values align with the original values of the Wests group guaranteeing the values aren't eroded further.
