Are the profit margins outside of pokies that thin, that's blown my mind, so undoubtedly with out the pokies revenue the clubs couldn't keep their doors open, so does that mean in the eyes of the club, the bar, tab, sky and raffles are only there to bring people in hoping they hit the pokies, kind of like how a Casino will do things to get people in hoping that a certain number will stay to Gamble?

Funny thing I find Spartan is loads of people I speak to rib me about the Tigers but openly admit we are they're 2nd team. 🤷‍♂️

Joel I'm hopeful there would be some form of legal intervention through the courts, surely the three directors would have some form of legal protections, just depends if they're willing to fight it at great financial cost or just walk away.

The other 2 directors 6 years and 8 years will be replaced by hand picked Romero / Burgess supporters , I have said in another section , the media build up may keep shit heads off the board if Romero is all about winding back the review and her and Burgess are heading to the Wests Tigers Board again with a few hanger onners , More pressure will help us and the media are now all over it , Remember it only takes a couple to turn on these grubby directors to make changes again , Romero can be punted if the others turn to save face

The other two were voted in by members, wouldn't the members have to vote on new appointments

Interestingly, the sections relevant to debenture holders (membership, criteria, procedures) are conveniently omitted apart from a cursory reference.

That will only change 2 ways- implement the reports recommendation for 4 x independent directors to provide independent choice / balance against 1 x Balmain, 1 x Magpie and 1 x HBG, or yes sale to a new owner and do away with existing structure. That again has issues- new owner may want relocation, no desire for the heritage clubs views / influence etc. I would suggest the first choice should be easiest but.............

In this country, I’m not sure how you can force any person or entity to ‘sell’ something they legally own. Can someone make you sell your house or car if you fully own it ?

I won’t say all clubs but yes pokies is a huge part of a lot of clubs to survive , it was a small club but big enough to have 100 pokie machines , and again , restaurant was private , we got a guy in and he run it and paid small rent to club , Bar not very often made a profit it was a joy when it did and it would only be in the hundreds of dollars , Raffles the big ones like Sunday meat market or Friday night meat raffles 40 trays x $ 30 each needs plenty to buy tickets , tickets $ 1 each or 10 for $ 5 that type thing , sky racing at the time was like $ 2500 per month , need loads of,punters on the horses to make coin on the tab , tab pays very low % , but even big clubs may be surviving on them , Ashfield I’m not sure but take the profit from pokies out and my guess it would be shaken , they I believe have huge amount of pokie players ,

I think the Board can appoint someone by ordinary resolution until the next AGM, which is fairly normal in clubs and corporations.

Anyone know when the next AGM is , hope it’s soon , we can’t have these muppets fixing boards before elections , and when I say fixing boards I mean encourage others to apply for a spot ( wink wink ) ones that may let’s say fall in line , but one good thing is the media is all over this so others may not all of a sudden want to be involved as this will get worse before it gets better , we need to remember , Romero and Burgess have not had control long so it’s gonna hurt them when they start to loose it and they will. , Time to go Burgess and Romero , pS. Funny we haven’t heard from them , they would be shitting bricks due to media coverage
