Wests Tigers Podcast - Hosted by Helmsey&Eddie.

A very special and unique podcast with collaborators from Wests Tigers Unite coming together to discuss the actions we've taken to try and help Wests Tigers push into a new era of professional administration and governance.

On the pod are Rob Bechara (Wests Tigers Life), Zac Kelsey (Tiger Town), Will (Spartan117 on Wests Tigers Forum), Garry Watson, and I.

Of course, the primary topic discussed is the Holman Barnes Group's archaic debenture group and the review of the governance of the majority owner of the Wests Tigers. We hope you enjoy!

It was actually inspiring to listen to! Thanks @Joel Helmes @cochise @Spartan117 & team.

Two things, did you email the pod link to Richo at his ceo email? 100% he will listen to it & I reckon he will be inspired too that we are all behind him & very grateful for his efforts so far.

Also I have this feeling that Wests Tigers Unite and this whole HBG governance shit-fight that has galvanised the WT fan groups will be CULTURE changing for the whole club. Better leadership at Board & HBG level brought about by united fans/members for Wests Tigers future (not Balmain & not Western Suburbs) will resonate down through to players & grassroots, I have no doubt.

2025 can be a watershed for the Wests Tigers! As you said @Spartan117 it's not about the past 25 years, it's about the next 25 years!

Thanks mate, really appreciate the support
.
I have been busy at work today and haven't had a chance to really congratulate @Spartan117 on his appearance. He was on with some big personalities and really held his own and made some of the most important points in the pod.

He gets my 3 points for an outstanding début.

100 percent, it's ironic how through a powerplay Romero, Burgess and others tried to manipulate things to maintain control of the Wests Tigers, all it ended up doing was killing off the factionalism within the fan base and after 25 years created a fan base of Wests Tigers fans. Not Western suburbs or Balmain, but Wests Tigers.

We’ve got to stay united as Wests Tigers now. Time to remember and respect the past, but get on with the future and that future is the Wests Tigers.

The current dictators, sorry meant directors are not going to roll over because of a public back lash. If they were worried about the fans, the members and the NRL fraternity in general they would be taking a way different approach . They will dig in deep and continue on the same course.

Unlike a rogue state you cannot send in the SAS and take them out and while they make the rules, how can you over throw them. I guess the media and public embarrassment is our best chance, but I have my doubt they give a rats what people think

The people in power yes, though the authorities might force their hand. There's already one debenture holder speaking out, where's there's one there's sure to be more.

I agree, but I think the review being done by Liquor and Gaming NSW will change the landscape.

If only one thing comes from this it is that Wests Tigers fans now have a much better understanding of the debenture system and how those people, despite not necessarily having the right skill set, have power over the Wests Tigers.

We see this as a marathon and not a sprint.

Agreed Joel, now that a debenture holder has come out claiming the system needs to be changed and once they investigate the grievances of the 3 board members stood down I cannot see how Liquor and Gaming wouldn't have something to say. I'm just hoping it's enforced on HBG and not just a recommendation.

Wests Tigers Unite Update

As the Petition calling for a governance review into the Holman Barnes Group moves towards 1400 signatures Garry Watson sat down for a one-on-one chat with Holman Barnes Group Debenture Holder and former director John Hardgrove.
