A lot of criticism of Galvin's involvement but I strongly disagree. Yeah, we looked frustrating attacking the goal line but Galvin still managed a grubber for a repeat set and mostly took good options. We have to give the benefit of the doubt that playing with a second string team is going to limit things a bit. Sure, there's a similar pattern to limited attacking play last season, but you still can't take trial action too seriously.
I think his involvement was really important in holding it together in our own half. And his long kicking game covered for some very weak sets out of our own half. He also took intelligent 5th tackle options. You guys seem to have forgotten how bad that can be with halves of prior years. I'm not a great Galvin fan but he looked a very mature player out there and definitely a class above anyone else on either side.
